Seattle Mariners vs. Kansas City Royals: A Big Fat Bust
If Johnny Cueto pitched a quarter of how good he was with the Cincinnati Reds, the Kansas City Royals (88-63) would be the greatest thing since sliced bread.Cueto was traded to the Royals and at the time he was one of the elite pitchers in baseball. At the moment, the Royals are afraid to start him as he's been a flatout disaster.

In his last 7 games, Cueto is 0-6 with 1 no-decision. In that no-decision, he finally came up with a respectable outing against the Tigers and the Royals paid him back with a lack of run support for his hard work.

As good a team as Kansas City is, Cueto needs to get on the right track as a team's elite pitchers start in the playoffs and there's no margain for error. Tonight, he get's an easy opponent in the Seattle Mariners. Once he get's past Robbie Cano and Nelson Cruz, it's smooth sailing from there and this game will come down to the pitching of Cueto.

Robinson Cano
For a while, people thought that Cano made the biggest mistake, leaving the New York Yankees for greener pastures. I still think that he made a mistake as he would've been an all-time Yankee great and eventually had a plaque in Monument Park, but he took the money.

That said, we must give Cano credit as he's turned his 2015 season into a respectable showing. Currently, he's at .282 with 19 HR and 73 RBI. These aren't the numbers that he hd with the Bombers, but certainly respectable for a 2nd baseman. Cano has around 10 days to pad those stats as he's 7 for his last 20 with 3 HR and 8 RBI. Johnny Cueto would be a good way to do that, but the question is "Which Johnny Cueto shows up tonight against the M's?" Lets back the odds favorites as our first MLB pick for today's best plays.

MLB Pick- Kansas City Royals -163 at 5 Dimes 3 UNIT PLAY.

San Francisco Giants vs. San Diego Padres: Best Manager in the MLB
Bruce Bochy was a player and now a manager that has brought multiple championships to the city of San Francisco. Unfortuantely for the Giants, the Chicago Cubs are finally a contender and the Giants won't be able to make a wild card at 79-72.

I have such great respect for this ball club that if they were allowed to participate in the post-season, they would have a chance to win it all. This is not because of their talent, this is because of the managing and clutch play. That said, expect the Giants to finish the season out like professionals on Bochy's watch

Madison Bumgarner
Tonight, MLB odds favorite Giants, get a very winnable game at Petco Park which is a pitcher's park. Madison Bumgarner (18-8, 2.84) gets the start and has been outstanding all season long.

In 26 2/3 innings against the Pads this season, Bumgarner sports a 2.37 ERA. I know that the combination of Matt Kemp and Justin Upton are formidable, but let's face it, they haven't lived up to expectations in San Diego as of yet. Look for guys like Buster Posey (.324, 19 HR,, 93 RBI) to give the Giants that spark that he's been giving them all season long as pitching will really be the main factor in this San Francisco victory.

MLB Pick- San Francisco Giants -159 at 5Dimes.
