We look to start off the new week in the MLB with a lot of loot to be made! Follow our in-depth analysis in two games that we think the bettor will have the edge.

Detroit Tigers vs. Chicago White Sox

James "Big Game"Shields?
Please, don't believe the hype. Even before he tanked this season( 2-8, 5.06 ERA), I always thought that this was a pitcher that was way overrated and his name is certainly not indicative of the way that he pitches. From Kansas City to San Diego to Chicago in such a short period of time, this pitcher is average at best and the Padres got a lemon.

The only thing good for Shields is that he goes to a better team in the White Sox (31-32). The Chicago White Sox face a very confident bunch in the Detroit Tigers, who stopped the Yankees winning streak in Yankee Stadium and Detroit's pitchers have been very effective lately to go along with a hard hitting offense. This is a game in which the bettor get's the Tigers at great value against a slumping pitcher in James Shields.

Ian Kinsler
Kinsler had been having a great season at 13 HR, 42 RBI, and a .316 BA, but he really put his team in the right direction when the Tigers payed a visit to Yankee Stadium and domianted the Yanks.

In his last 2 games, Kinsler is 3 for 7 with 3 runs, 2 HR and 7 RBI. This couldn't come at a better time as Miguel Cabrera had been slumping and Kinsler basically shouldered the load. Kinsler actually leads the Tigers in home runs, runs batted in, and hits. That's difficult to believe when a team has the best hitter in baseball in the last two decades in Miguel "Miggy" Cabrera. Detroit's starting pitchers have dominated and they're ready to make a run at the Cleveland Indians for the American League Central Division lead and maybe more. This is starting to look like the Tigers of old.

Justin Upton
One player to keep an eye on is Justin Upton. Upton has played very poorly with the Tigers (4 HR, 17 RBI, .224 BA) ,but has elevated the level of his play slightly and has more importantly recognized what had been holding him back. I'm expecting Upton to be a key figure on this team and also add some speed on the basepath. Where tonight's game is concerned, the bettor can get the Tigers at super value against a pitcher that is struggling and overrated. Take the Tigers and double up with a 2 unit play.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Returning The Favor
After a disastrous start to the season, starting pitcher, Zack Greinke (8-3, 3.84 ERA) has a real opportunity to stick it to his old team, the Los Angeles Dodgers (33-31), who have been more successful than the disappointing Diamondbacks as much more was expected from Arizona. Arizona has won 2 games in a row and at 28-37, have a ton of ground to make up as this is a team with talent that just got off to a rotten first two months to the season.

"The Great Greinke"
After finishing 2nd to Jake Arrieta last season for the NL CY Young Award after such a successful season, Greinke took the money and was ridiculed for it. I also think that he didn't like playing 2nd fiddle to Clayton Kershaw as Greinke is a man with a huge ego.

Greinke couldn't be facing his former team at a better time. In his last 2 starts, which covered a total of 16 innings, Greinke hasn't allowed a single run while allowing just 7 hits, walking 2 batters, and striking out 13 batters. This is very effective and efficient pitching at the same time. It's the Greinke that we saw as a member of L.A. Since April 30th, Greinke hasn't allowed more than 4 runs in any start and has just been off the charts. This game will be up to the Arizona offense to scratch out a few runs for Greinke.

Also relating to Greinke with a rotten early start to the season was Paul Goldshcmidt. Lately, Goldy has picked it up, so to speak, as he now has hitting 11 HR, 39 RBI, and a ,283 BA. In the last week alone, Goldschmidt is 11 for his last 24 at bats with 6 runs, 1 HR and 5 RBI. For the season, his OBP% is .430. This tells you that opposing pitchers are afraid to pitch to him and he has a great eye at the plate. The odds are high here, but I love Arizona.
