It's the start of a new week and we have some really attractive matchups on the MLB odds board. Watch as we try to deliver two victories for the betting public in in dramatic fashion.

New York Mets vs. Philadelphia Phillies
Mets Below .500?
Who would've believed that after a few weeks in the season, the New York Mets (5-6) would be below the .500 mark and in a virtual tie for with the Philadelphia. A big reason for this has been the inteptitude of Matt Harvey as Harvey is a big fat 0-3. Maybe we shouldn't believe the hype where Harvey is concerned.

With Jacob deGrom on personal leave due to difficulties with his newborn, a brunt of the pressure has been put on Noah Syndergaard (1-0, 0.69) and Syndergaard has been the leader of this team.

The Mets are a much better team than their record indicates and have to feel confident as they face the Fightin Phils with Syndergaard pitching. In 13 innings, Syndergaard has blown opponents away, striking out 21 batters. Philadelphia is starting to rebuild their team and has kept Ryan Howard on the squad, but this is a tall order for Philly, even at home.

Michael Conforto
To me, this is the Met that never gets the credit and has always delivered since joining the majors last season. This season, Conforto is at iit again, hitting .313 with 1 HR and 6 RBI. Comforto also has an eagle eye at the plate with an amazing .421 OBP%. I look for this youngster to keep improving his game as guys like David Wright are just proving to decline. In 9 games, Wright has 0 HR and 0 RBI.

The other player on the Mets to look out for is Yoenis Cespedes. Cespedes chose to stay in New York as the Wilpons delivered with a huge contract for Cespedes. Thus far, Cespedes has delivered with 3 HR, 9 RBI, and a .286 BA. He leads the team in total bases with 23 and I only expect him to get better.

We didn't even get to the Phillies as there's a different hero or goat everyday. In this case, the Phillies offense is a non-factor as the combination of Noah Syndergaard and the Mets offense are just too strong, which makes them my MLB pick.

Washington Nationals vs. Miami Marlins
Have Faith In Fernandez
Apparently, having Barry Bonds as hitting coach and Don Mattingly as the manager hasn't helped the pathetic Marlins at 3-7. They have an all world pitcher coming off of injury in Jose Fernandez (0-1, 5.06) squaring off against a Washington Nationals team (9-2) that has been on fire.

The Nationals are a really tough fade with possibly the best player in baseball in Bryce Harper, but Fernandez has had stellar MLB career and good pitching can shut down a good offense. The Nationals have won 7 out of their last 8 games and their last loss was yesterday against the Phillies, 3-2.

The Beast of the East
Right now, nobody can tell me that Mike Trout is a better baseball player than Bryce Harper and I think that Harper is about to even the score where careers are concerned.

For the season, Harper is hitting 6 HR, 15 RBI, a.359 BA, and a .458 OBP%. He very well might set all types of records. While Daniel Murphy has been a flatout beast for the Nats, Harper leads the team with a whopping 35 total bases; this has helped them a lot in the MLB odds boards.

There's a huge upside for Harper as he's only 23 years old. I have a feeling that this is a once in a lifetime player that took time to get going, but once he did, he's shown the rest of the league that he's simply the best and for years to come barring injury.

I always support good pitching, but Washington is the far better baseball squad and I'm not about to fade them just because Fernandez is pitching. Let's take the underdog in this spot.
