We've been riding the wind of the Colorado air at Coors Field and it's putting money in the bettor's pocket. We also hit our big 3 unit play yesterday. Here are your MLB Picks of the Day.

Recap
The last couple of days have been successful as we've been riding the over in the games at Coors Field and just as I described, teams can score runs in bunches and we've made some coin with that. Along with that, we faded Clayton Kershaw with a sweet price of +235 and picked up the "w" and yesterday we made a huge play on Texas and Cole Hamels (3 units) as we thought there would be a carryover effect from a tiring rain delay of 3 hours and 45 minutes the previous day vs. New York. To sum it up; if you're following my picks, you're making a hefty sum of money. Let's keep it going!

New York Mets vs. Washington Nationals

"Mad Max" Scherzer
In this case, Max Scherzer (8-5, 3.52 ERA) is a bit mad as he pitched poorly in his last outing, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits in just 6 innings in a loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. Scherzer still managed 10 strikeouts, but he allowed 2 gopher balls and it was a poor outing.

Tonight, he faces a team that Washington has virtually owned in the New York Mets. These games are of great importance in that there's a two game swing involved where the National League East Division is concerned. Washington is currently 5 games ahead of the Mets with a record of 46-32. The edge in this game still goes to Max Scherzer and the Nats as Scherzer has pitched to an ERA of 2.38 in 34 innings while striking out 48 batters and walking just 6 in the month of June. That strikeout to walk ratio is simply superb and the Mets don't offer much in the form of offense in this game except for Yoenis Cespedes .

Main Source of New York's Offense
Cespedes has lived up to his contract and his billing as he's currently checking in with a .290 BA along with 18 HR and 45 RBI. With New York, you don't know who will have a good game, but Cespedes is always a threat at the plate. Unfortunately for him, his 45 ribbies are a bit low as his team doesn't afford him many opportunities to knock in runners on base. Yoenis Cespedes is 3 for 11 with 1 HR and 1 RBI for his career off of Scherzer and he'll need to be at his best because the Nats offense is loaded, led by "The Natural", Bryce Harper. Harper has had a poor start to the season ,for his standards, but still has 16 HR, 46 RBI, and a .403 OBP%. New York has lost their last 3 games while Washington has won their last 3. Max Scherzer should have an easy time with the Mets.

Texas Rangers vs. New York Yankees

Texas Momentum
This game appear quite interesting as the Texas Rangers (51-27) have gotten the big hits and have taken away the New York Yankees (37-39) confidence. Today, according to MLB odds makers is a different story as the Yankees are a huge betting favorite with Masahiro Tanaka (5-2, 3.01 ERA) pitching against an inferior opponent. The Rangers have won 4 straight games and lead the American League West Division over the Houston Astros by 10 games. Are the Rangers good value against a Yankees team that's average at best in the hitting department is the question?

The Big Blow
No, it wasn't a home run. It's the hamstring injury to Carlos Beltran who has been New York's entire offense at the age of 39. Hamstring injuries can be tricky. Just ask Matt Kemp as it has basically ruined his career. For now, Beltran is listed as day to day and that's crushing to the Yankees although Beltran's MRI came back clean.

For the season, Beltran is hitting .297 with 19 HR and 53 RBI. He's batting an amazing .366 in the month of June along with 7 HR and 22 RBI. I don't expect Beltran to play tonight and New York will need to find some offense that will matchup with guys such as Ian Desmond (14 HR, 51 RBI, .326 BA) and Adrian Beltre (11 HR ,51 RBI, .285 BA). This Rangers offense is loaded with the emergence of Desmond. Look for Texas to keep winning and that means value in this MLB pick.
