It's time for MLB Picks of the Day, with appealing pitching match ups for Today, I see this is as an opportunity to profit because some pitchers are very good and some belong in the minors.

Padres vs. Orioles
Everyone knows that I have the Coors Field rule. Well, I also have the Luis Perdomo rule as I think that it's mandatory that the bettor fade him when the MLB odds are -200 or less. Perdomo is also a pitcher in fantasy league that I "stack" against because he's simply a horrible pitcher.

For the season, Perdomo is 2-2 with an 8.79 ERA and is actually coming off of a victory, but his victories are few and far between. Tonight, he faces a team which is far superior than his San Diego Padres in the Baltimore Orioles (40-29).

Lousy Splits
We look at Perdomo's splits and they're as lousy as expected. He possesses a 7.84 ERA on the road, a 6.75 ERA in the month of June, gives up a ton of home runs in comparison to innings pitched and also has a poor walks to strikeouts ratio. Baltimore, who possess strong hitters in Manny Machado and Chris "Crush" Davis, will be licking their chops at the thought of facing Perdomo in a home run hitting friendly ballpark such as Camden Yards.

This is also an important game for Baltimore as they hold a mere 1 game lead over the Boston Red Sox and 2 game lead over Toronto Blue Jays and nobody has been playing exceptional well in this division. This is the type of game in which Baltimore needs to take advantage of what is thrown at them.

Jonathan Schoop
Schoop has been the hottest hitter, aside from Chris Davis' barrage of home runs , during the last week for the O's. Schoop is really proving to be an unsung hero lately. In his last 3 games, he's 8 for 14 with 2 HR, 4 RBI, and 6 runs scored. In the month of June, Schoop is battng .324 with 4 HR and 13 RBI. He's a very important part of the O's lineup as he provides a spark near the bottom of the lineup. Look for Schoop to play well here.

Giants vs. Pirates
The Giants, who were on an extended winning streak, gave away an easy win yesterday to a Pittsburgh Pirates team that I believe won 2 out of their last 11 games prior to Monday. Madison Bumgarner pitched a gem and the Giants offense gave him nothing against a much inferior starting pitcher in a 1-0 loss to the Bucs. For Pittsburgh, it's a gift because facing a stud like Bumgarner, you would expect a loss. Now, there's a bit of pressure on the Giants as they send Johnny Cueto (10-1, 2.10 ERA) to the mound and there can be an argument that Cueto has been the 2nd best pitcher in the National League.

Time To Get Even
I've said so many times. Johnny Cueto is a National League pitcher as you saw from his stints at Cincinnati and Kansas City. He was basically a different pitcher in K.C. Put him back in the National League and on a good team and he's unstoppable.

He's also a huge reason why the San Francisco Giants lead the National League West Division over the Los Angeles Dodgers by 5 1/5 games. Aside from Cueto, the Giants are 8-2 in their last 10 games and should destroy this Pittsburgh squad, who have poor pitching.

Brandon Belt
With Buster Posey having a poor 2016 and Hunter Pence out with injury, Brandon Belt has been carrying this offense on his back. For the season, Belt has 10 HR, 35 RBI, a .304 BA, and a .416 OBP%. The on-base percentage is the more important statistic and it come down to two things. Either the hitter has  good eye at the plate or the opposing pitchers fear the bitter. Belt has a great eye at the plate that has helped propel the Giants into 1st place in their division.

His splits are spectacular. He's hitting .351 with 5 HR and 10 RBI in the month of June and is a road warrior, hitting .341 with 7 HR, 18 RBI, and 23 BB in 123 at-bats on the road. This guy likes the free pass. Make the Giants your MLB pick as they'll be out for revenge.
