Saturday is a huge day in the MLB as the ALCS continues with game 2 & a fascinating NLCS as the Mets & Matt Harvey host the Chicago Cubs. See who we like as our MLB Picks of the Day.

Chicago Cubs at New York Mets
Groundbreaking Series

Remember folks, the Chicago Cubs are just 8 wins from a World Series Title. They haven't won a World Series in over 100 years! There will be no more talks of Steve Bartman stealing a fly ball away from Moises Alou.

It all starts here as Jon Lester takes on Matt Harvey. I'm sure there's no innings limitation on Harvey as this is as big as it gets and the Mets haven't won a World Series in 29 years. Then again, if Harvey is up over 100 pitches, will Agent Scott Boras be looking over Harvey and manager Terry Collins' shoulder to take him out immediately.

That's a major issue to me when making the pick because Harvey is a top flight pitcher than can pitch a complete game on any given day. You know if Jon Lester is pitching a gem, he'll be left in the game to complete it.

Daniel Murphy
Daniel Murphy is what you call a gamer. He's a regular guy that's going to give the Mets 13 to 14 home runs, 70 RBI's and hit around .285 each season, but gamers are what baseball is made of as they give you every thing that they have. Murphy is known for not having the highest I.Q. when it comes to being on defense and the basepaths. That said, this past NLDS, this gamer came through like a champ as he hit the winning home run to put the Mets in this series.

Murphy is "in the zone" and that's very rare unless it's an elite player. Murphy has hit a home run in each of his last two games and is a real threat to the Cubs in this game. He's definitely a key player in this game along with Curtis Granderson. Grandy is hitting .389 and possesses power and speed. No other Met is hitting at all and that needs to change or Jon Lester can easily take home field advantage away from New York.

Lester has players such as Kyle Schawrber, who is batting .500 and Jorge Soler at .571. These players aren't even the big hitters in the lineup. I look for New York to win this game, but Lester is going to pitch well. It might come down to the bullpens.

Must Read: Pair of Total MLB Picks for Saturday's Postseason Games

Toronto Blue Jays at Kansas City Royals
Toronto Was Non-Existent In Game 1
After defeating the Texas Rangers, I thought that the Blue Jays would give a lot more in game 1 than what we saw in a 5-0 Kansas City win. Game 2 is a game that the Jays must win as they have their ace, David Price, taking the mound and then it's back to Toronto in front of a very supportive Canadian crowd where they play well.

We all know Toronto has the best offense in baseball, but this post-season, they've been a disappointment. It just shows you how good that they are that they can get to this point in the playoffs and be playing from behind all of the time.

The Price Is Right
I look for this game to be all about David Price. Price is a guy that can easily go 120 pitches. Toronto used him in relief when they faced Texas in game 4 and he pitched 3 innings and didn't fare so well. Price will be put back on his normal schedule and I expect him to shut down a Kansas City offense which is much inferior to that of the Blue Jays.

Kansas City is great at playing small ball and for the most part in game 1, they did, but Salvador Perez keeps coming up with timely home runs as in game 1. He takes a beating behind the plate as catcher and this is a player with a ton of heart and the most pop in this lineup if K.C. needs immediate runs. With all of that said, today won't be the Royals day, it will belong to David Price and the Jays, so grab them with your collection od MLB picks.
