The warm weather will benefit some home run hitting teams while some pitchers might not appreciate it. Let's see what we have for our MLB Picks of the Day, after another 2-0 day.

Joe C. Record 16-2 +13.83 Units

Washington Nationals (17-15) vs.  Arizona Diamondbacks (14-16)

Mad Max Finally Gets Run Support
Max Scherzer made the blockbuster move that sent him to the Nationals from the Tigers. The pitching has been at an elite level, but the wins haven't been there due to lack of run support by his team. Thus far, Scherzer carries a 2-3 record with a 2.11 ERA. In his last game, fortunes have changed as Scherzer allowed 5 runs on 10 hits in 7 innings with 10 strikeouts in a victory over the Miami Marlins. After having a poor game, picking up the "W", and still carrying a 2.11 ERA, it just shows everyone how good a pitcher that Scherzer really is.

Bryce Harper Beasting For the Nats
Maybe people ought to give the Harper-Mike Trout comparisons another look. When Harper is hot, he's proven that he can be one of the best players in the game. Many people are predicting an MVP award in his future.

In his last 4 games, Harper is 10 for 16 with 6 HR and 13 RBI's. These aren't just shots just making it over the wall. Harper is jacking these balls and is filled with confidence. For the season, Harper has 11 HR, 28 RBI, and a .435 OBP. D'Backs pitcher Josh Collmenter will need to proceed with caution when pitching to the 22 year old Harper.

Harper isn't the only player hitting well as WIlson Ramos (.327) and Yunel Escobar (.311) are both getting on base frequently and are setting themselves up to be driven in.

Washington is also on 8-2 in their last 10 games and on a 4 game winning streaks. The odds are respectable and the Nats are the obvious MLB pick as they travel West.

New York Mets (20-11) vs. Chicago Cubs (15-15)

Odds Makers Missed the Boat
Unless there are some Wrigley winds that I don't know about, I love the MLB odds total in this game at 9 runs. I have not picked total yet this year, but you have Jacob deGrom (3-3, 2.95) squaring off against Jon Lester (2-2, 4.04). This game is all about pitching.

I thought that I was going to see a 7.5 run total from odds makers and this is an outright gift. While it is true that deGrom hasn't gotten run support and Lester hasn't had a stellar start as a Cubbie, the level of talent at starting pitcer in this game is very high.

Lester is also coming of of two consecutive victories in which he has allowed 1 earned run in 14 innings pitched. This just shows you how poorly that he pitched in his first couple of games, but these pitchers are in line for a low scoring pitchers duel.

New York has David Wright on the shelf and Daniel Murphy has been hitting like a minor-leaguer. While Lucas Duda has been a stud, the power numbers haven't been there. From a Cubs perspective, Anthony Rizzo is a concern, but not facing deGrom. Rookie Kris Bryant, came out like a ball of fire in spring training and continues to hit well, but only has one major league home run to his credit.. This game has under written all over it.

MLB Pick- Chicago Cubs/New York Mets Under 9 +108 from Pinnacle ** 2 UNIT PLAY
