Cleveland Indians vs. Los Angeles Angels

Pitcher's Duel
You have two of the finest pitchers in the MLB tonight, duking it out as this game is very important for the Los Angeles Angels. We wrote about Cleveland yesterday and won as we faded the Tribe. This is just not their season as they lack power despite having some guys who can really go on a tear at times such as Jason Kipnis, Michael Brantley, and Brandon Moss.

You would think that Cleveland has a great chance in winning this game as they send Corey Kluber (6-11, 3.44) to the mound but his offense has failed him all season long and now he has started to wear down, pitching very inconsistently. However, he will make the Angels work for this game as he's coming off of a complete game win over the Kansas City Royals in which he surrendered 1 run on 5 hits. The one major positive to Kluber is that he is a guaranteed 110 pitches or more per ball game.

This Might Be Cleveland's Lucky Day
Out of nowhere, the Angels are on a 6 game losing streak and this has dropped them to 55-49 and 4 games behind the Houston Astros for the divisional lead. It seems like just last week that I was looking at the standings and the Angels overtook Houston for the lead and now, they've spit the bit and in serious trouble.

Garrett Richards (10-8, 3.38) will look to dig the Halos out of the hole and times have been tough for the right-hander as he has lost 2 straight games, That said, Richards hasn't allowed more than 4 runs in a start in his last 9 games. It will be up to the Angels offense to decide if they want to break the streak in a game that they must and should win.

Playing Like An MVP
This is the type of game in which the reigning MVP, Mike Trout, should take matters into his own hands because the Angels need his contributions and he's the best player in baseball .Trout is 0 for his last 9, but is still hitting .309 on the season with 32 HR and 67 RBI. He's by far the best player in this game and the Angels need him to deliver in a huge spot and at home.

New York Mets vs. Miami Marlins

Pitching Like An Old Man
I've been sticking with New York Mets and Yankees games and you can see that they've done very well for me as my record indicates. We have sort of a monkey wrench in this game because it's not Harvey, deGrom, or Syndergaard pitching. Bartolo Colon is pitching and he's fading fast.

This is a worst case sceanrio for the Mets, who have just managed to sweep the Washington Nationals and have a tremendous amount of momentum. The Mets love home cooking and now they travel to Miami with a pitcher that's been giving up a tremendous amount of runs lately and doesn't seem to have the answer to solve the problem.

How Bad Is He?
Colon has went from the penthouse to the outshouse and he has stunk. He's 0-6 with 1 no decision in his last 7 starts. In his last start against the San Diego Padres, the Pads teed off on him, sending him to the showers after just 2 1/3 innings after Colon allowed 6 runs on 10 hits. I'm not used to saying this, but the Mets will need their offense, which has been coming up big lately, to win this game for them.

Lucas Duda has experienced ups and downs all season long, but right now, he's playing like a superstar with 9 home runs and 12 home runs in his last 8 games. For the season, Duda has raised his numbers to 21 HR, 50 RBI and a .249 BA. He's come a long way. Will he go deep again is the question? It's not as likely at Marlins Stadium.

Look for manager, Terry Collins, to give Colon a quick hook if he's pitching poorly. The Mets are playing like serious contenders and the MLB odds are appealing.
