It's Independence Day in the USA and we're coming out with a "bang" with our explosive picks to shoot money into your pockets like fireworks. Here are the MLB Picks for July 4th.

San Diego Padres vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Perdomo Is Poison
Simply stated, San Diego Padres starting pitcher, Luis Perdomo (2-3, 8.49 ERA) always lines the opposition up for a victory. It's just a matter of what MLB odds that you get his opponents at. In this case, it's Paul Goldschmidt and the D'Backs at home and the D'Backs are a reasonable -144. The ball travels deep in the desert due to high temperatures. We can be on high score alert and the Diamondbacks look mighty appealing as Perdomo puts his team in jeopardy every time that he takes to the mound.

Minor League Material
Yes, I'm referring to Perdomo again as he's coming off of one of his better starts of the season, allowing 3 runs on 7 hit in 6 innings in a 3-0 loss to the lowly Cincinnati Reds. With Perdomo, the Pads are going to get a lack of innings and need to be on point when it comes to their offense in order for any chance to win this game.

For the season, Luis Perdomo is sporting an 8.49 ERA to go along with a 2-3 record. Having a pitcher of this level of quality has led to the Padres being in the basement of the National League West Division at 35-47. This team has capable hitters in Will Myers (19 HR, 57 RBI, .286 BA) and Matt Kemp (16 HR, 54 RBI, .255 BA), but is simply going nowhere.

Where Arizona is concerned, they've totally underachieved at 37-47 and this is nice opportunity to win a series. They've lost 7 out of their last 8 games and need a win in the worst ways as their post-season hopes are dwindling away.

Jean Segura (5 HR, 34 RBI, 308 BA, 13 SB) has definitely exceeded expectations, but make no mistake about it, Paul Goldschmidt is the star of this baseball team. He can hit for power and average and comes up with the timely hits.

After a slow start to the season, Goldy has gotten his average up to .292 and that's a major accomplishment considering where he came from. I look for his level of stardom to keep rising into the .300's. Right now, he has 15 HR, 55 RBI and 11 SB. Let's also not forget about his .418 OBP%. Look for Luis Perdomo to get hit hard by Goldschmidt, who really hasn't been hitting well as of late, but is still a force to be reckoned with.

Kansas City Royals vs. Toronto Blue Jays

Momentum Going the Jays Way
With starter, Aaron Sanchez (8-1, 3.08 ERA) stepping to the mound and Toronto coming off of a 17-1 demolition of the Cleveland Indians, how could one think that the Toronto Blue Jays (45-39) would collapse despite underachieving this season and facing the defending World Series Champion Kansas City Royals at the Rogers Centre?

New Ace?
As for Sanchez, he definitely get's the run support, but certainly holds up his end of the bargain as he's allowed just 4 earned runs in his last 20 innings. This equates to 3 starts and while Sanchez isn't going to strike out a lot of opposing hitters, he's going to provide Toronto with 100 pitches per start. It's up to the offense to do the rest and when you have the best RBI guy in the game in Edwin Encarnacion, you're in a good position. EE has made up for the loss of Jose Bautista with his hard driven blasts to the wall. Nobody hits the ball harder than Encarnacion.

For the season, Edwin Encarnacion has 22 HR and a league leading 76 RBI's. He's on pace for 42 home runs and 147 RBI's and this Blue Jays offense isn't nearly as good as they were last season. No more Ben Revere and Troy Tulowitzki is a product of Coors Field. Nonetheless, with Josh Donaldsom and Edwin Encarnacion combined with quality starting pitching and the Jays look appealing for MLB pick in a game in which it's not a holiday for them.
