With a full slate of baseball games on this Sunday we should have no problem making a profit with MLB picks as there as some really appealing games to choose from.

Miami Marlins (3-9) vs. New York Mets (9-3): Anything Under -200 is a Steal
Nobody likes to lay a lot of MLB odds juice, but the Mets are playing the best baseball that they've played in decades. Some of this has been without injured David Wright. Guys like Lucas Duda have really stepped up their game this season. It seems like every time the Mets need a clutch hit, Duda delivers. His home run total is low with just 1 home run, but as one of the announcers of yesterday's game said, they'll take it. Additions such as Michael Cuddyer have given the Mets an added spark. The only thing that they need now, is for Daniel Murphy to hit as he 's been in a major slump.

The Mets are coming off of a stupendous start by Jacob deGromm as he pitched 7 scoreless innings and today, it's Matt Harvey's turn. This could possibly be one of the best 1-2 punches where pitching is concerned in the majors. Harvey doesn't look like he's lost anything on his fast ball despite being out for over a year. The Marlins have a couple of good hitters in Ginacarlo Stanton and Dee Gordon, but the betting odds are extreme because the Marlins are a poor pitching team.

In yesterday's game, Gordon single-handedly almost got the Marlins back in the game as he went 5 for 5. He has no power, but he's a great contact hitter and a great base stealer. As for Stanton, he had has a rough night last night with 3 strikeouts. Even the best power hitter in the game can have a rough night and I wouldn't be surprised to see Stanton give Harvey some trouble.

That said, New York is on a 7 game winning streak, hasn't lost at home, and Harvey is starting. The choice for MLB picks is very easy here.

New York Yankees (5-6) vs. Tampa Bay Rays (6-6): Coming Off Of a Big Win
After a 9-0 destruction of the the Rays in Tropicana Field, the New York Yankees have to be feeling really good about themselves. Masahiro Tanaka pitched a 2 -hitter and the Yankees didn't need Alex Rodriguez to carry the team. What I like about today's game is the momentum that the Yankees carry and "Pinetar Pineda" will be getting the start in a pitching matchup that favors the Yankees.

Pineda (1-0, 5.11) has had two starts this season. The first start, he defeated the Toronto Blue Jays pitching quite well and the 2nd start he allowed 5 runs and 9 hits in 6 1/3 innings to go along with 9 strikeouts. The guy has great stuff and doesn't need to resort to pinetar. Today, he get's a matchup against a Rays team which is very weak on paper and shell-shocked from the beating that they took yesterday. This is a team with very little crowd support. There might be more Yankee fans at the game than Rays fans.

Some very encouraging signs for New York in yesterday's game was the play of Brian McCann and Brett Gardner. Gardner swiped two bags while McCann went 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 runs batted in. I don't expect Chris Young to hit another grand slam. He's the most unpredictable player on the Yankees roster. I do expect Pineda to pitch well and the offense to be effective after yesterday's game. Take the Yankees at appealing odds.
