Coming off of an undefeated day, we look to build upon that and carry the momentum as the weekend's just around the corner. With just a handful of Thursday MLB games. Our MLB Picks inside.

Los Angeles Angels vs. New York Yankees

Feasting Off of the Halos
That's just what the New York Yankees have been doing as both teams came into this series with identical records, but the Yankees have dominated this series, taking the first 3 games by a total of 23-11. Can Mike Trout and his Angels salvage a game in his home area is the question? Although Ivan Nova (4-3, 4.41 ERA) has pitched relatively well this season, New York's offense will need to carry the Bombers in this game and get to Betances, Miller, and Chapman as nothing is assured here.

Setting The Tone
One thing that New York hitters have been able to do after a 12-6 victory is pad their statistics. The Yankees have been yearning for runs all season long and in this series, ther lowest scoring output has been 5 runs.

Everything starts with the play of Jacoby Ellsbury and Carlos Beltran. When Ellsbury is healthy, he set's the tone as the leadoff hitter in the Yankees lineup and they play well. Thus far, as a member of the Yankees, he been injued often and he hasn't been able to set the tone. Lately, Ellsbury has been healthy and he's been finally starting to earn his hefty contract.

For the season, Ellsbury is hitting 3 HR, 19 RBI, and a .293 BA. Ellsbury is a speedster has stolen home plate twice this season. He currently has 12 stolen bases and 5 triples this season. I definitely think that he's headed for .300 and a big season. In the month of June Ellsbury is hittng .393 with 1 HR and 4 RBI. Look for him to play well here as the Angels pitching leaves a lot to be desired.

Headed For the Hall
As for Carlos Beltran, he hit his 400th career home run and has breezed past that number as the most powerful and probably best player on the team at 39 years of age. New York has to be loving the production of Beltran as he's hit 16 HR, 41 RBI, and a .281 BA. In the month of June, he's hittng nearly .400 wth 4 HR and 10 RBI. If he continues to play like this, he's a lock for the MLB Hall of Fame. Look for New York to sweep the lifeless Halos with decent MLB odds at home.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Colorado Rockies

Get Ready For Takeoff?
That's usually what happens to a baseball at Coors Field. It get's planted over the righ, left, or centerfield fences as this is a place where a ton of home runs are hit due to the altitude level. The total in this game reflects this fact as it's currently listed at 12 runs.

Coors Field Rule
I've listed my Coors Field rules for the past few years as almost every betting total is listed in double digits. We know that the Rockies team has always been weak, but not when it comes to hitting dingers at their home ball park. The rule is, if the starting pitching is above average, we take the under the total as it's always placed high and if the pitching is average or below, it's an easy under whether the total be 12 or higher. The bettor shouldn't be scared.

I'm going to fade my theory as both teams have shown a real lack of offense lately. The Pirates were outlasted by the New York Mets in extra innings yesterday and have to be tired in making the trek from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to Denver, Colorado in such a short period of time. The Pirates have scored 5 runs or less in 7 out of their last 9 ball games. Where pitching is concerned, they start a boardine good pitcher in Jeff Locke (5-3, 4.28 ERA). In Locke's last 2 games, he's 2-0, allowing just 3 runs in 16 innngs pitched.

Where the Colorado Rockies are concerned, they've won 3 out of their last 4 games despite losing 8 out of their last 12 games. The Rockies are coming off of a 1-0 vctory over Los Angeles Dodgers and have scored just 4 runs in their last 2 games. Normally,  I mention player statistics, but the run outputs of both teams in this game doesn't exsude confidence in the over. I'm going to break my golden rule and look for an under depsite the venue for my MLB Pick.
