Our MLB betting expert shares his two money line underdog picks for Thursday’s card. Go inside to read exactly why he likes these MLB picks.

Baltimore Orioles (Tillman) vs. Oakland Athletics (Triggs)
The bad news for Baltimore is they lost the first three games of this series, and each of those defeats came by 1 run. The last two came by scores of 2-1 and 1-0. The good news, Baltimore is 11-1 this year after allowing 2 runs or less in each of their previous two games.

Baltimore has to like their chances of avoiding be swept by Oakland today. After all, Chris Tillman will be the mound, and Baltimore is 19-5 this year when he’s their starting pitcher. Furthermore, Tillman is a perfect 7-0 in his team starts this season during day games, and also 7-0 when Baltimore has lost 2 or more games in a row. The right-hander hurler has made six career team starts against Oakland, and compiled a stellar 2.58 ERA in those outings.

Don’t be deceived by Oakland winning the first three games of this series. They’ve done so by scoring a combined 6 runs. Oakland is averaging 1.9 runs scored per game, and owns a horrible .556 OPS over the course of its preceding seven contests. Last night’s win came by a score of 1-0, and Oakland is a dismal 3-15 since 2015 following a game in which they shutout their opponent.

The Oakland starting pitching rotation has been ravaged by injuries of late. As a result, rookie Andrew Triggs will be making his second ever MLB start this afternoon. His lone start came back on 6/18 against the Angels. Triggs went just 3.0 innings in that outing. The Oakland hurler has appeared in relief 18 times this year, and has a lofty 5.35 ERA overall.

CH White Sox (Gonzalez) vs. Kansas City  Royals (Duffy)
Kansas City has gone a perfect 8-0 in their last eight games with Daniel Duffy as their starting pitcher, and seven of those wins came by 2 runs or more. Duffy has exhibited terrific form over his last 4 starts, proven by an outstanding 1.98 ERA and 0.88 through that time period. Duffy is a flawless 10-0 in his team starts this season as a money line favorite of -110 or more.

MLB odds at Heritage has Kansas City as a -156 money line favorite. The Royals are 12-1 in 2016 when they’re a money line home favorite of -125 to -175, and had a sizable +3.3 run per game differential in those 13 games. Kansas City is just 8-9 at home this year against left-handed starting pitchers. However, they’ll be facing White Sox right-hander Miguel Gonzales tonight, and they’re an extremely profitable 27-12 at Kauffman Stadium this year when cast into that role.

I like the home side to win tonight and by a decisive margin. One of my Thursday MLB picks will be indicative of that prediction.
