Swinger peruses the MLB odds to find out which games are worthy of his MLB picks. Let's see if he can fatten our bankroll today as we take a closer look at the Yankees vs. White Sox and Twins vs. Giants.

Swinger's 2014 MLB Record (8-13-1, -23.05 units)
It's been a tough year thus far in my Sunday MLB Picks but perhaps the light at the end of the tunnel isn't a freight train comin' my way but is actually the start of something good. That light I speak of shone last Sunday when we cashed two of our three MLB picks with Washington -160 and Colorado -125 in MLB odds both clicking for 4 units apiece. Unfortunately we had a clunker wedged in between as the Dodgers fell to the D-backs as -125 road chalk.

Let's take a peek at what the MLB odds holds in store for us today. I'm determined to break out of this funk and win back all those blown units early on. There's no time like the present boys so let's get it!

Rockies vs. Braves *(MAX PLAY)
I've got a pair of plays for you in this one with Julio Teheran and his stunning 1.92 ERA complemented by his 0.95 WHIP taking the bump for the Bravos. Atlanta lost yesterday 3-1 to the Rockies but will be bolstered by their ace taking the hill today. Teheran is coming off a brilliant complete game performance Tuesday night when he allowed only six hits en route to a 5-0 blanking over the Brewers.

Franklin Morales, today's starter for the Rockies, has been less than solid over his last three starts. He drew a no decision in his last start against the Giants where he surrendered three runs and five hits over six innings of work. Immediately prior to that he suffered losses to both the Royals and Rangers, allowing four runs in both.

While the offshore's will want you to pay a pretty penny to get down on the Braves, we don't mind because we see an easy winner in this one. Teheran limited the Brewers to only one run in each of his two starts last season, both wins and both blowouts (11-2, 10-2), and we see no reason why anything changes today.

MLB Picks: Play the Braves -165 for 5 units at WilliamHill.com and play the Braves -1 ½ (+135) for 3 units at Bet365.com.

Yankees vs. White Sox
The Yanks rallied last night and they have their Japanese import Masahiro Tanaka on the hill today. Tanaka was touched for his first MLB loss earlier this week against the Cubs (of all teams) but should bounce back against their American League cousins today. Andre Rienzo will take the ball and his undefeated record for the South Siders this afternoon.

This should turn into a pitching duel today but the Yankees will win because, though Rienzo has pitched well for the White Sox this season, he's no Tanaka. Secondly, Chicago's bullpen has been a mess, so when Rienzo walks off that hill for the last time today, he's got a sketchy group of firemen coming into save him. The White Sox bullpen has an 8.49 ERA in their last five games. Ugh!

MLB Pick: Lay the lumber on the visitors and play the Yankees -175 as one of your MLB picks for 3 units at WillaimHill.com.

Twins vs. Giants
Ricky Nolasco of the Twins has gotten murdered in his last two starts against the Giants. Granted, both those starts were at the tail end of last season but he was lit up for a total of 11 earned runs and lasted only seven innings combined. On the flipside of things, Madison Bumgarner was torched by the Twins three years ago for eight runs and lasted only one-third of an inning.

While I believe the Twins are a decent fade here, I'm not overly excited about laying the big number with the Giants who have been playing over their heads and will return to earth in the very near future (maybe as early as today!).

MLB Pick: Play 'over' 7 ½ (+110) for 2 units.
