Jon Lester's been pitching very well, part of the reason the Red Sox are dominating. He's gone 5-2 with a 2.41 ERA since the All-Star break, though he's 8-7 with a 4.14 ERA out on the road this season.
Lester has faced the Yankees twice and has given up 11 hits and six earned runs in 11 and 1/3 innings. Both starts came at Yankee Stadium.
As for Hiroki Kuroda, he's 7-2 with a 1.89 ERA at home, but is only 1-3 with a 4.66 ERA in four 2013 appearances versus Boston. But, the Red Sox at -107 will be Swinging Johnson's play this afternoon.

It's been back and forth in the NL Centrral, but right now it's the Cardinals that own the top spot by just a half-game.
Michael Wacha picks up another start for St. Louis. He's looked incredibly sharp over his last two outings, allowing only six total hits and zero runs in 10 innings.
The Pirates have Charlie Morton taking the bump and what a reliable pitcher he's been for the ballclub. Ahead of today he's allowed two or fewer earned runs in six consecutive starts. Willie thinks the best sports betting value is on the road dog in Pittsburgh at +135.

This game is fitting for the Sunday Night Baseball matchup, with Homer Bailey and the Reds squaring off against Cy Young contender Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers.
Bailey has been stepping it up for Cincinnati over the second half of the season and gave up only two runs in seven innings against L.A. earlier in the year.
Obviously Bailey will have to be at his very best to out-perform Kershaw, who will be raring to bounce back after a couple tough starts. He hasn't been able to get through the sixth inning. Willie loves this price on the Dodgers (-120 to -130) as small road chalk in the MLB odds.

Remember Nick Tepesch? He'll be making his first start in over two months today, but the young righty hasn't come up against the Angels before.
And, believe it or not, L.A. is actually playing good baseball! The Angels have won three in a row and are 8-2 over their past 10 games, helping them take over the third spot in the AL West standings.
Southpaw Jason Vargas will pitch for L.A. and while he's sporting a 4.33 ERA post All-Star Break, he has surrendered only four earned runs in 12.2 IP against the Rangers in 2013. Even though the Angels are the hotter team, Joe is taking Texas to win at -105 in his MLB picks.
Covered by Ron Patrick
The Orioles have picked up their level right when they needed to, winning three games in a row to put them right in the thick of things in the Wild Card race.
Oh, and then there's those poor White Sox. Chicago has lost nine straight and are toiling away at an overall record of 56-85, good for the second-worst record in the American League, trailed by only Houston in that regard.
Considering Chicago has been playing so badly and Baltimore is high on motivation, Ron's recommendation is on the Orioles on the run-line.
