As another full day of Sunday baseball action approaches, it's time to break down the opening MLB betting lines. Have we found any promising value?

Morning  Report

The three significant favorites of the day are the Tigers (-240 vs. Minnesota), White Sox (-200 vs. Miami), and the Diamondbacks, who host San Diego as -185 favorites.

Below you'll find the MLB odds for five games we're tracking closely.

Indians (Kluber) vs. Red Sox (Doubront)

Are we in store for a high-scoring game this afternoon? After all, we do have two pitchers who are sporting ERAs that are above 5.00. Corey Kluber is 3-3 with a 5.19 ERA and Felix Doubront has gone 3-2 with a 5.61 ERA.

The Red Sox took a 2-1 series lead with a come-from-behind win yesterday and will be vying to close out this thing in style. As many teams have found out though, it's not going to be easy to get past a pesky Cleveland ballclub. Find out in a few hours where Willie Bee is placing his sports picks.

Orioles (Gonzalez) vs. Blue Jays (Jenkins)

Despite their best efforts late, the Blue Jays couldn't recover after falling behind early in yesterday's game. They would go on to lose 6-5.

Today we've got Miguel Gonzalez (2-2, 4.25 ERA) going up against Chad Jenkins, who's 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA this season after getting called up from Triple A close to two weeks ago. The Orioles enter as -115 favorites, while the Blue Jays are trading at a rough price of +105. The total has opened up at 10 runs, which is no surprise given what we've seen in this series so far.

Braves (Teheran) vs. Mets (Marcum)

The Braves and Mets are the two teams featured in Sunday's lone night game, which will be televised on ESPN. The two starters are Julio Teheran (3-1, 3.99 ERA) and Shaun Marcum (0-5, 6.59 ERA), with current MLB betting lines quoting Atlanta as a -125 favorite.

There's no hotter team than the Braves right now. They've won eight straight games, including the first three matchups of this series in the Big Apple. Will they grab the sweep tonight? Or is Joe Freda going to go elsewhere with his MLB picks?

Pirates (Rodriguez) vs. Brewers (Gallardo)

The Pirates took care of business yesterday, with Jeff Locke recording the winning decision. Milwaukee's struggles against left-handed starters continue, and they get another southpaw in Wandy Rodriguez (5-2, 3.40 ERA) today.

There's no doubt Milwaukee isn't doing themselves any favors with their recent play (3-7 over last 10), but perhaps they'll be able to perform better against a shaky road pitcher in Rodriguez. As for the baseball odds, the Brewers are favored at -125 – what will Ron Patrick choose?

Athletics (Colon) vs. Astros (Keuchel)

The struggle continues for the Astros, who have opened up as +160 underdogs for this afternoon's game against Bartolo Colon and the Athletics. Oakland has been playing good baseball, having won seven of ten, and they've managed to go 14-13 on the road so far this season.

Ron Patrick is all over this series and nailed his run-line play on the Athletics yesterday. There's a good chance he'll go a similar route, considering Dallas Keuchel (1-1, 4.93 ERA) has given up 16 hits and eight earned runs over his last 12 and 1/3 innings of work.
