Spring Training Record: 3-2 (+ $85)

Lets have a look at the baseball odds today~

Diamondbacks at Brewers (3 pm ET)

Milwaukee pulled one out of its ass  Wednesday to cost us a win, scoring three times in the seventh inning to tie Seattle at 6-6, then getting another run in the eighth for a come-from-behind 7-6 victory. The Brewers bullpen, which ranked dead last in baseball last year, held the Mariners scoreless over the last four innings while the bats rallied.

Arizona, meanwhile, lost to Kansas City Wednesday 8-1 as new Royal James Shields and a pack of relievers held the Diamondbacks to six singles and a double.

So, both Milwaukee and the D-Backs are 5-6 this spring.

Due to injuries and the World Baseball Classic Milwaukee is playing right now without Ryan Braun, Corey Hart, Yovani Gallardo and Aramis Ramirez. Meanwhile, Arizona is without C Miguel Montero and part of its projected bullpen.

The Brewers cost us some cash yesterday with a late rally; we'll try to get our money back today with another Milwaukee fade play.

Giants at Indians (3 pm ET)

Cleveland shut out the Dodgers Wednesday 4-0, getting four scoreless innings from starter Justin Masterson and help from four LA errors. So the Indians are 9-5 this spring.

San Fran, meanwhile, has lost its last two exhibition games, scoring just five runs total, and is 4-5 this spring.

Motivation plays a factor in our handicapping of this game. The Giants are the defending World Series champs, and just want to get to April with a healthy roster. The Tribe, on the other hand, has a new manager in Terry Francona, who will try to help Cleveland break a string of four straight losing seasons. So the Indians might be trying to establish a winning environment this spring.

Tigers at Braves (6 pm ET)

Both these teams are 6-6 this spring; Detroit has won a couple games in a row, while Atlanta has won three in a row, allowing just three total runs over that span.

Both these teams are also a bit depleted by the World Baseball Classic; the Tigers are without triple-crowner Miguel Cabrera, while the Braves are without closer Craig Kimbrel.

Both these teams made the playoffs last season, and both will contend for the playoffs again this season. So both teams have a similar motivation this spring; get the vets in shape, round out the rosters and just get to the regular season all in one piece.

As for Thursday's pick, we usually take the underdog price in games that look like toss-ups. But Braves pitching has been very solid lately, while Detroit's bats have been known to go cold. Without Cabrera in the lineup, the Tiggers might have some trouble putting runs on the board Thursday.

Free MLB Pick: Take Atlanta at the -114 offered at Pinnacle.
