With a lot of opportunity out there, let’s take a shot at a 2-team parlay and see if we can stuff our bankrolls with some coin.

I’ve checked the betting odds and I see two late games in which I found appealing for our MLB Parlay of the Day.

Texas Rangers (56-47) at Cleveland Indians (54-48)

Texas finds themselves in a very tough spot, losing 2 straight games and facing an equally talented Cleveland Indians team that have surprised some people. In this game, Texas sends their ace, Yu Darvish (9-4, 2.86), to the mound and he’ll face a formidable foe in Justin Masterson (11-7, 3.60).

Low Scoring Game?

Darvish has been a bit inconsistent as of late, but is coming off of 6 1/3 shutout innings against the New York Yankees in which he allowed just 2 hits.

This is an imposing pitcher who has held the opposition to just a .189 batting average on the season and has struck out 161 batters in 125 2/3 innings. We know that the Japanese product can “bring it”.

From the Tribe’s perspective, they’re 3 games out of 1st place in the AL Central Division, but have played some good ball as of late, winning 2 straight games.

Justin Masterson is just the type of pitcher that would fit well in this spot and at home. That said, Masterson is 0-4 with a 6.49 ERA against Texas for his career. Does he break out of his shell here? It would be a great spot for him to do so.

Offensive Explosion

Both of these teams are coming off of a major offensive display in which 19 runs and 32 hits were belted out as Cleveland went on to win the game, 11-8. Kipnis, Cabrera, and Santana have been the consistent hitters for the Tribe, but Ryan Raburn was the hero in this game with a 3-run walk off home run in the 11th to win it for Cleveland.

I don’t expect that kind of output in this game as the pitching is rock solid and both teams could appear to be tired after such a display on Friday.

Pick –Cleveland/Texas UNDER 7.5 at Bet 365

Cincinnati Reds (59-45) at Los Angeles Dodgers (54-48)

I’ve been all over Dodgers games lately because they have been a dominant team that have taken charge of the National League West Division.

After the Reds breaking their 6 game winning streak on Thursday, the pendulum has swung back in the direction of L.A. as they defeated the Reds, 2-1 on Friday.

Clayton Kershaw can make any team look good, but Carl Crawford and Hanley Ramirez continue to impress and lead the team as they were a combined 5 for 8 on Friday with a home run coming from Ramirez. If the Dodgers get half-decent pitching, this duo can help them stay at the top of the division.

Arroyo vs. Ryu

This could be a pitcher’s duel. Although Bronson Arroyo (9-7, 3.19) doesn’t put up the most attractive numbers, he’s capable of coming up with a gem at any time.

This season, the Reds really haven’t given him the run support needed to win consistently. However, Arroyo is coming off of an 11-0 beating of the San Francisco Giants in which he pitched a complete game. Los Angeles will be facing a veteran with a lot of confidence.

Hyun-Jin Ryu has been a stud all season, but has floundered in his last two outings. He’s allowed 9 runs and 16 hits in his last 10 1/3 innings pitched. The Dodgers can’t be too worried because their offense has been dominant over the last week. They might need it here if Ryu comes up short again.

Although Arroyo pitched a shutout in his last outing, I expect both of these teams to come out swinging. The total for the game is much too low. Take the OVER in this spot for your free picks.

Pick – Cincinnati/Los Angeles OVER 7.5 at Bet 365

Parlay- Cincinnati/L.A. OVER 7.5 and Texas/Cleveland UNDER 7.5

Good luck, everyone! Let’s nail this sucker!
