With the exception of Clayton Kershaw pitching, Saturday night appears to be a hitter’s night. Will we see a lot of high scoring games? This will have to be taken into account when making our betting picks.

Joe C. Record
48-58 -25.09 Units
Just too much chalk at the beginning of the season has been a recipe for disaster. Yu Darvish and Jered Weaver did their jobs but there was no run support. There’s so much time left in the season to get back on track. Let’s get to the free picks.

Los Angeles Dodgers (23-20) vs. Arizona Diamondbacks (16-28)
Kershaw Time
A lot of people would call this chasing; I call it a great spot. The Diamondbacks are a dismal 4-18 at home. Even though their record is bad, it’s not bad enough to warrant such a poor home record. The Arizona fans that come to see the games must be steaming. Now, they get to face, when he’s healthy, the best pitcher in the game where earned run average is concerned, in Clayton Kershaw (2-0, 1.74).

Who’s the Best?
Last season, Matt Harvey beat Kershaw out for the All-Star game start, but a pitcher can’t control how many runs that he’s given and when it comes to runs allowed, Kershaw is the best.

Even though the Dodgers record doesn’t indicate a dominant team, Kershaw is supported by some big-time bats in Yasiel Puig, Adrian Gonzalez, Hanley Ramirez, Dee Gordon ,and Matt Kemp when he’s healthy.

Arizona sports one huge bat in the form of Paul Goldschmidt. On the season, Goldy has 7 HR, 26 RBI and a .311 BA. He always seems to come up with huge hits, but in this case, he’s facing the best in Kershaw.

Pick- Los Angeles Dodgers -163 2 Units at 5 Dimes (This is only my 2nd 2 unit play of the season, but it’s a sensational spot)

Toronto Blue Jays (22-21) vs. Texas Rangers (20-22)
It’s All About Buehrle
Thus far, Toronto starter, Mark Buehrle (7-1, 2.04 ) Has come racing out of the gate. This is a pitcher that’s a career 50 games above .500, but this season has been his best and he plays on a merely average team in the Jays.

Buehrle has allowed 2 runs or less in 6 out of his 8 starts this season and he’s facing a Texas Rangers team that’s taken a step back this season.

Slaying the Dragon
Toronto is also coming off of a game in which they were able to defeat Yu Darvish. Darvish pitched exceptionally well, but the Rangers offense was non-existent as Toronto went on to win the game 2-0.

Previous to this game, Edwin Encarnacion had a 2 home run game and this is a Blue Jays lineup that’s one of the better ones in the league with Jose Reyes, Melky Cabrera, Jose Bautista, and Edwin Encarnacion as the 1 through 4 hitters.

The name of the game is runs and the Jays rank 4th in the major in runs scored as opposed to Texas, who ranks 16th. The Rangers have some respectable hitters such as Adrian Beltre, but a combination of the pitching of Buehrle and the Jays offense should give Toronto the win on the road.

Pick- Toronto -106 at 5 Dimes

Good luck, everyone!
