Once again we've got a lot of games to run through, so let's get right to it.

Morning MLB Odds Report

Here's the early morning MLB odds rundown.

Giants (Gaudin) vs. Braves (Minor)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Madison Bumgarner was simply fantastic and the Giants jumped on Kris Medlen, leading to a huge win for the road team in the series opener. Today the Braves are favored at -185, while the total can be locked down at 7 runs.

The way Chad Gaudin's been throwing the ball, San Francisco could very well cause a lot of problems for Atlanta again this afternoon. However, Mike Minor has been even more impressive at 8-2 with a 2.44 ERA.

Red Sox (Lackey) vs. Orioles (Garcia)

Covered by Swingin' Johnson

Those of you who thought we'd see a lot of runs put on the scoreboard in this series have been wrong so far, but could that change today? John Lackey and Freddy Garcia are veterans who know how to spot their pitches, but they are also very vulnerable to getting shellacked. Boston is a -110 favorite as of now.

However, when looking at the splits you have to give Garcia and the Orioles the slight edge in the pitching department. He's been solid (3.64 ERA) at home, while Lackey has gone 1-4 with a 4.88 ERA in six starts on the road so far this season.

Yankees (Phelps) vs. Angels (Hanson)

Covered by Joe Freda

The Yankees have lost four in a row now after dropping the opener to C.J. Wilson and the Angels by a 5-2 scoreline. Perhaps they'll fare better with David Phelps on the mound, who's allowed just one earned run over his past two starts.

As for the Angels (-110 in the MLB odds), they'll have Tommy Hanson taking the hill and he's gone 3-2 with a 4.12 ERA overall. However, he's just 1-2 with a 4.84 ERA in four starts in the “comfortable' confines of Angel Stadium.

Nationals (Zimmermann) vs. Indians (Kazmir)

Covered by Joe Freda

A pitcher's duel yesterday ended up being decided in extra innings, with the Indians scoring the 3-2 victory at home. Tonight we'll have Jordan Zimmermann (9-3, 2.00 ERA) and Scott Kazmir (3-4, 5.33 ERA) on the mound, with Washington listed as the -130 favorites.

The advantage there clearly goes to Zimmermann and the Nationals, especially since Kazmir has given up 15 hits and eight earned runs over his previous 12 innings of work. On the other hand, you pretty much know you're going to get at least six solid innings out of Zimmermann.

Dodgers (Kershaw) vs. Pirates (Cumpton)

Covered by Willie Bee

Jeff Locke was phenomenal in Pittsburgh's 3-0 win in the opener. Injuries have resulted in a call-up for Brandon Cumpton, who will be making his MLB debut against Adrian Gonzalez, Yasiel Puig, and the Dodgers.

What a day to make your first start, having to go up against one of the game's best in Clayton Kershaw. There had been no MLB odds released at time of writing, but one would have to think Kershaw and the Dodgers will be favorites, despite Pittsburgh being the better overall team.

Diamondbacks (Miley) vs. Padres (Richard)

Covered by Joe Freda

What a night it was for Eric Stults, who pitched a complete-game three-hitter in last night's victory over the Diamondbacks. Don't expect anything remotely as efficient out of Clayton Richard tonight, considering he's been getting torched left and right.

Wade Miley (4-5, 4.89 ERA, 1.45 WHIP) hasn't been too good either, but the edge still goes to the road team here, which is why we find Arizona favored at a price of -110. The total has opened at 8 runs and should stay pretty still throughout the day.
