Feldman vs. Ramirez
Scott Feldman takes the mound for a high-offensive powered Baltimore Orioles team as he faces a Mariners squad that has lost 4 straight games. Let's have a look at the MLB odds for the matchup.
Feldman’s transition to the American League has been a rocky one. He has a sub 4.00 ERA overall, but is 2-2 with a 5.12 ERA since joining Baltimore. This should definitely be an opportunity for the 6 foot 7 right-hander to get back on track as the O’s sit just 4.5 games behind the Boston Red Sox for the divisional lead.
The Mariners start “part-time” starter, Erasmo Ramirez. Ramirez has only made 3 appearances on the season.
In his 1st start of the year, Ramirez got rocked by the Boston Red Sox, but has since bounced back with 2 solid efforts against Cleveland and Minnesota. Ramirez (1-0, 7.70) has gotten big-time run support from the Mariners offense and will definitely need it here.
Home Run #40!
The question of PED’s will always come into people’s minds when it comes to any major leaguer, but we’re assuming that the MLB home run leader, Chris Davis, is as clean as a whistle as he says that he’s chasing down Roger Maris’ old record of 61 home runs.
Davis homered last night in Baltimore’s 11-8 victory over Seattle. In all, 7 home runs were hit combined by both teams. We might not see 19 runs being scored, but we could possibly see more fireworks tonight at Camden Yards.
The Orioles feature a formidable offense from top to bottom. Last night, Kendrys Morales went 4 for 4 with a home run and 2 RBI’s, showing that he’s a force to be reckoned with.
Scott Feldman has the ability to excel and I expect both offenses to calm down a bit. The total is too high.

Chicago White Sox (40-67) at Detroit Tigers (62-45)
In one of the biggest mismatches on paper that I’ve seen in a while, the Detroit Tigers, who have won 6 games in a row with Max Scherzer (15-1, 3.01) taking the mound, face a Chicago White Sox team that has packed it in long ago, ready to play golf.
Detroit is coming off of a slim 2-1 victory over the White Sox on Friday, but tonight’s pitching matchup is totally one-sided and the Tigers also feature a formidable offense with the likes of Austin Jackson, Torii Hunter, and Prince Fielder.
AL Cy Young Award
You can pretty much bet the house that Scherzer will win the Cy Young Award. During All-Star time, I mentioned that Matt Harvey and Clayton Kershaw are better pitchers than Scherzer. This still holds true, but at 15-1, Scherzer is having the season of a lifetime.
Every game that the Tigers play is important because the American League has home field advantage for the World Series and the Tigers have a legitimate shot at the Fall Classic if Miguel Cabrera is healthy.
Scherzer is coming off of one hit outing against the Philadelphia Phillies in which he struck out 7 batters in 6 innings. Look for “Mad Max” to go further in this game as the White Sox have very little to offer in the form of offense.
Sure, there’s a chance that Adam Dunn or Alex Rios can go yard, but the White Sox are a weak hitting ball club minus Paul Konerko and Scherzer should dominate in this game.
