The MLB Regular Season is just about to start, but everyday is an opportunity to make some money when betting.

Stand by as I offer you my MLB picks for the last weekend in Spring Training. Let’s hammer this one home!

San Francisco (16-14) at Oakland (16-13)

Spirits will be high for the San Francisco Giants as they just signed catcher, Buster Posey, to an enormous contract and the Giants once again will be contenders to win the World Series with their superb pitching staff and improved hitting.

It’s Whipping Time

While the Giants feel great about Posey, the “preseason” has belonged to 1st baseman Brandon Belt. Belt has been tearing the cover off of the baseball with 8 HR, 19 RBI and a .419 BA. He’s hit safely in 7 out of his last 9 games and has had RBI’s in 6 out of his last 9 games. Belt may be a factor in this game in leaving a lasting impression as the regular season has arrived.

Hunter Pence

The Giants always have the pitching, but they need the contributions of players like Hunter Pence. Thus far, Pence has played well. He’s been making great contact, hitting safely in 9 out of his last 10 games and carries as a .373 BA with 3 HR and 13. This is fresh start for Pence. A player of his caliber shouldn’t be moved around from team to team. Expect big things from him.

Looking Ahead

The A’s could be caught looking ahead towards the season opener as they face one of the best pitchers in baseball in “King” Felix Hernandez. This is a meaningless game, but not to bettors, and we look for any edge possible.

Cespedes and Reddick

The A’s have been getting solid hitting out of this combination and are hoping that this will carry over to the regular season. Yoenis Cespedes could pose a problem for San Francisco. He’s hit safely in 8 consecutive games and 14 out of his last 16 games. He’s also hit 5 HR and 12 RBI in the month of March. He can definitely be a threat in this afternoon’s game.

Reddick always seems to come up with the big hit. He didn’t play yesterday, but is coming off of a 2 for 4 game with 1 HR and 3 RBI against this same San Francisco team.

Oakland is a slight -120 betting odd favorite according to 5 Dimes Sportsbook and their hitting is imposing. Lay the juice.

Los Angeles Dodgers at Los Angeles Angels

This spring training has been the Yasiel Puig show for the Dodgers. Puig has been amazing, hitting over .500 in 58 at-bats. He also has 3 HR and 11 RBI. This kid has a bright future ahead of him. He hasn’t played recently but did get an at-bat in against the Angels. If Puig does indeed play a full game, he’s a difference maker, but his status is unknown for this game.

Minor League Veteran

3rd baseman Luis Cruz, has basically been a minor league player, but did have a “cup of coffee” with the Dodgers and showed that he can play at the Big League level. Cruz hasn’t done anything to hurt his status, hitting .311 with 2 HR and 8 RBI in 45 at-bats. He’s coming off of a productive 2 for 4 game with 2 RBI against the Angels. Cruz could be a factor here.

Trout Check

You can’t help but monitor the production of young upstart, Mike Trout. Trout has made it apparent to the MLB that he is the future of this game. Thus far, Trout has continued the fine hitting and the ability to get on base. His OBP% is .486 this spring training and he’s coming off of a 2 for 3 performance with 1 HR and 3 RBI against the Dodgers yesterday. Could Trout have a repeat performance tonight? Nothing would surprise me with this kid.

The Angels have the complete package with outstanding hitting and pitching. Look for a final exclamation point with a victory tonight.

NBA Pick: Angels -116 at 5 Dimes
