Saturday’s rematch has Don Mattingly’s club as hefty betting odds ‘chalk’ again, with Los Angeles’ Zack Greinke (15-3, 2.67 ERA) meeting Colorado’s Juan Nicasio (8-9, 5.32 ERA).

The Los Angeles Dodgers spanked the Colorado Rockies with Friday’s 11-0 triumph, collecting at minus 295 MLB odds. Saturday’s rematch has Don Mattingly’s club as hefty ‘chalk’ again, with Los Angeles’ Zack Greinke (15-3, 2.67 ERA) meeting Colorado’s Juan Nicasio (8-9, 5.32 ERA).

Dodgers, Crawford crush Rockies

Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford drilled a three-run homer in Friday’s victory, giving his squad an 8-0 lead in the 4th inning. Los Angeles’ Juan Uribe and Mark Ellis united to hit 6-for-9, while starter Clayton Kershaw held the Rockies to four hits over six frames.

Colorado’s Charlie Blackmon and Michael Cuddyer both logged 0-for-4 nights from the leadoff and cleanup spots, respectively. Blackmon recorded two of his side’s three errors, while the lopsided affair soared OVER the ‘total’ of 6 ½.

Greinke shuts down Padres

Greinke came away with a no-decision in Sunday’s 1-0 victory for Los Angeles over the San Diego Padres, cashing as a 135 road favorite. The 10-year veteran stood in for five innings, allowing two hits and one walk.

Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez crossed the plate for his side’s sole run, scoring thanks to an error from San Diego’s Will Venable. Los Angeles edged the Padres in hits, 4-2, while the tight affair plunged UNDER the ‘total’ of 6 ½.

Nicasio lit up at home

Nicasio logged a second straight loss on the same afternoon, with Colorado’s 13-9 defeat to the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Dominican Republic native was shelled for seven runs in 2 1/3 innings, falling as a 116 home dog.

Colorado’s Todd Helton poked two doubles in a 3-for-5 day, notching four RBIs. Rockies mates Nolan Arenado and Yorvit Torrealba combined to bat 4-for-9, with the slugfest’s 22 runs blazing OVER the MLB odds ‘total’ of 9 ½.

Back the OVER on Saturday

Greinke opened as a 240 home favorite on William Hill’s MLB betting board, while the ‘total’ was first listed at seven (UNDER minus 125). Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig (.322 BA) is listed as “questionable” due to a foot injury suffered in Friday’s opener.

I am backing the OVER in this matchup, looking for Los Angeles to continue piling in runs as the playoffs approach.

Nicasio has loosened up over the past month, surrendering 23 earned runs over his last 20 1/3 IP. The OVER is 7-2-1 in the 27-year-old’s last 10 road starts against clubs with winning records, while facing a loaded Dodgers lineup here.

Greinke has had solid form, but has not lasted past six innings in his last four starts. Colorado brings at least a few capable bats, while the OVER is 4-1 in its last five matchups against right-handed starters and 4-0 in the team’s last four spots following a loss.

Umpire  Jim Reynolds has called some high octane duels this month, with the OVER going 3-1 over his last four dates behind the plate. The stretch includes Monday’s 10-5 win for the Los Angeles Angels down the freeway against the Oakland Athletics, while the OVER is 4-0-2 through the 44-year-old’s last six affairs in National League parks.

Look for the OVER to collect again for you MLB picks here, adding another cashed ticket to the wager’s 4-0 streak in this month’s four matchups between these foes.
