Yesterday Arizona and Boston put up quite a few runs and today oddsmakers have set the total pretty high for the second game of their series. Both pitchers on the mound today have struggled at times this year so will we see another offensive onslaught from these teams?

Arizona Diamondbacks vs Boston Red Sox
Oddsmakers have come out with the total for this game at 10 across the board. For my MLB pick I'm going to back over this total with MLB odds standing at 10 like at Pinnacle Sports -105. I have a hard time believing these pitchers are going to get out of this game without getting knocked around quite a bit. Both of these offenses have proved time and time again that they can flat out hit.

Arizona Diamondbacks
Archie Bradley will get the start for Arizona and takes the mound with a 4.80 ERA and 1.51 whip. Surprisingly those numbers are better than his career 5.08 ERA and 1.54 whip. Despite the poor numbers though for the most part he can pitch well at times and has been hot and cold this season like giving up one earned run in six innings versus Los Angeles and then seven earned runs in three innings Washington. In his last five starts he is given up just 15 total earned runs but I believe he will struggle today against the best hitting team in baseball, especially on the road.

He is still young and projects to probably be a decent major league starter but today could be rough for the 24-year-old. At the plate Arizona has a very solid lineup up and down ranking fifth in hits per game and sixth in total bases. Yesterday they didn't do a ton of damage against David Price but I expect for them to have a lot of quality at-bats today considering in their last five games they are averaging well over five runs per game.

Boston Red Sox
Clay Buchholz will come out of the bullpen to start for Boston with a 5.64 ERA and 1.41 whip. Without having to start he has pitched well in his recent appearances albeit just for an inning or so. His last two starts on the mound did not go so well versus Texas and the Los Angeles Angels allowing a combined seven earned runs along with three home runs in just nine innings. He has really struggled at times this year so like Bradley I don't expect for him to get out of this game unscathed. You would think at home he would actually have a better chance of having a good ballgame but that goes against his statistics where he has a 5.80 ERA with batters hitting .278 against him in Boston.

At the plate the Boston Red Sox are the best hitting team in all baseball ranking first in runs per game, batting average, hits per game, and OPS. After putting together a lot of quality at-bats yesterday I expect for that momentum to continue today. This offense has so many weapons there simply is not a weak point for any pitcher to attack.
