Wednesday’s rematch at Camden Yards has Orioles right-hander Chris Tillman slated to face Rays southpaw Matt Moore.
Moore extends shutout streak
Moore notched his second straight win with Wednesday’s 2-0 victory for Tampa Bay as a 111 road dog against the Texas Rangers. The 23-year-old gave up one hit over 5 1/3 innings, while recording six walks.
Tampa Bay’s middle relief came away with a trio of holds, while closer Fernando Rodney logged his first save. Rays mates Evan Longoria and Ben Zobrist registered one RBI each, with Zobrist drilling a double as part of a 2-for-4 day.
The tight affair’s two runs plunged below the baseball odds ‘total’ of 8 ½, moving the UNDER to 2-0 in Moore’s first pair of starts. Rays catcher Jose Lobaton was held to a 0-for-4 outing, leaving three men on base from the lineup’s No. 8 slot.
Tillman settles down in Boston
Tillman came away with a no-decision in Thursday’s 3-2 win for Baltimore over the Boston Red Sox, cashing as a 119 road dog. The fifth-year hurler allowed both of Boston’s runs, while giving up six hits through 5 1/3 frames.
Baltimore’s four relievers held the Red Sox to two hits over the final 3 2/3 innings. Brian Matusz and Jim Johnson came away with the staff’s win and save, respectively, uniting for four strikeouts.
The duel’s five runs dipped UNDER the ‘total’ of nine, shifting the ‘total’ to a 1-1 mark in Tillman’s first two outings. Baltimore’s Chris Davis poked a solo-shot homer, while Orioles mates Adam Jones and Manny Machado hit a combined 5-for-9.

Back the Orioles as home dogs
5Dimes.eu opened Moore as a 118 road favorite, with early wagers on Tampa Bay lifting the odds to minus 122. The ‘total’ opened at a flat eight, remaining unchanged after mixed action at MLB betting shops.
I am adding Baltimore to my night of sports picks, taking a price of plus 117.
The Orioles have logged a 7-1 mark in their last eight spots as a home dog, while Tillman has cashed in his last four outings when listed at a plus price. Tillman’s sole home start against Tampa Bay last year saw the California native hold the Rays to a pair of runs over six frames, collecting as a 106 underdog in a 6-2 win.
Baltimore’s victory in Tuesday’s opener brought the Orioles to 5-0 in the team’s last five spots of hosting the Rays. Orioles catcher Matt Wieters drilled his second homer of the year, while Jones and Machado each poked a double.
Moore comes into this spot overvalued with the kind of start he has had, while Wieters has two homers in a 5-for-8 career mark facing the lefty. Jones and Machado have hit a combined 5-for-12 lifetime against Moore and should have their chances again here.
Baltimore is 17-7 in its last 24 home dates against southpaw starters, while having an 11-5 mark in Tillman’s last 16 home outings. Look for the Orioles to cash again here, with some value as short dogs.
