Our “MLB Totals of the Day” feature has produced an outstanding 15-6-3 record during the previous 12 days. There are two more totals that we’ll break down for you in this revealing betting article.

Cardinals (Martinez) vs. Reds (Holmberg) 7:10 PM ET
Despite a rare bad outing in his previous start versus Colorado, Carlos Martinez is having a sensational season for the Cardinals. Prior to that poor showing, Martinez had posted a magnificent 1.08 ERA in his previous eleven starts. The Cardinals right-hander has gone an outstanding 16-3 in his team starts this year with a stellar 2.44 ERA. Martinez has posted a terrific 1.55 ERA in his last six away starts, and he enters today 9-1-1 under the total in the last eleven overall. This will be the third start in 2015 for Martinez against Cincinnati, and he posted a very good 2.25 ERA in the first two. St. Louis has gone 10-2-1 under the total during their last thirteen games overall.

David Holcomb will be making just his second start of the season for Cincinnati today. He has made seventeen starts for AAA Louisville this season. Dating back to 9/13/2014, Holcomb has made four starts for the Reds, and had a more than respectable 2.63 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in those outings. The 24 year old southpaw has one career start versus St. Louis and that came last season. He performed very well during that appearance, allowing just 2 earned runs on 5 hits in 6.0 innings pitched during a 2-1 Reds loss. Cincinnati has gone 6-1-1 under the total in their previous eight games.

Something that’s definitely worth mentioning is the home plate umpire for today’s game. Ben May will be behind the plate, and he’s gone 7-2 under the total in that role this year, and those nine averaged just a combined 4.3 runs scored per game. Teams also have a cumulatively poor .191 team batting average in those nine contests. Saying that May is a pitcher friendly umpire would be a vast understatement.

These teams have seen their last seven encounters against one another go under the total this season. I like this game to be a low scoring affair, and one of my MLB picks on Wednesday will be indicative of that prediction. JustBet is the only major sportsbook which has a current posted total of 8.0 on this game, and the rest are at 7.5.

MLB Pick: Play on the Cardinals and Reds Under 8.0 (-110) at JustBet

Padres (Kennedy) vs. Brewers (Jungman) 8:10 PM ET
Ian Kennedy has displayed good form over his previous three starts, posting a shining 2.37 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and a better than 4:1 strikeout to walk ratio. As a matter of fact, the Padres hurler has gone 8-1 under the total in his last nine starts with a sparkling 2.53 ERA. Kennedy is 18-7 under the total on the road since 2014.

Taylor Jungman is 4-0 under the total in his four starts at home this season with an excellent 1.99 ERA. That’s not to imply his overall 2015 resume isn’t a good one. Jungman is 7-2-1 under the total this season with a superb 2.23 ERA. Milwaukee has gone 9-1-2 under the total in their previous twelve, and averaged a miniscule 2.2 runs scored per game during that time frame.

MLB Pick: Play on the Padres and Brewers Under 7.5 (+100) at 5Dimes
