It's all about totals as we review today's slate and include only the sharpest plays in our MLB picks. Remember these are early games on Wednesday's card so don't get shut out!

Swinger's 2016 MLB Record: 40-22, +18.51 units

We've chilled recently from our torrid winning streak and what better time to get back on track than with totals? In our Monday selection we included the Boston Red Sox in our MLB picks and it was a rough outing for starter Eduardo Rodriguez who pitched himself all the way back to Triple-A Pawtucket. After blistering the books we have lost our last pair and have run up against a mild cooler. No need to panic as we will continue to do our homework, review the MLB odds and determine which matchups give us the edge we need. Let's go to work and cash those tickets!

Red Sox vs. Rays
This game is an early start (12:10 PM EDT) so don't be late. The total on this matchup is low because David Price will be pitching against his old team and fans vividly recall his past heroics as well as his five All-Star selections. But Price has not looked like a pitcher deserving of a seven-year, $217 million contract this season and though he will eventually right his ship and lower his 4.68 ERA it would be hard to envision that after he got positively shelled in his last outing against Texas where he allowed six runs on 12 hits in a little more than two innings of work. Another reason the total is low is because the Rays can't hit. They rank 25th in run production and team batting average while ranking 21st in on base percentage.

However, you can tuck all those fears away because there is overwhelming evidence to prove that going over the posted total in this one is the place to be. David Price is 1-2 when starting against the Rays with an ERA of 6.75 and a WHIP of 1.191. He got torched in his last appearance against Tampa Bay when he allowed eight runs on eight hits in a little more three innings back in April of this year. Tampa's starter Matt Moore is 3-5 when starting against the Red Sox with an ERA of 6.41 and a WHIP of 1.403. Moore was touched for five runs on seven hits in his last outing against another hard hitting club, the Baltimore Orioles. Factor in the most potent offense in the league today in the form of the Boston Red Sox and there are plenty of reasons to go high in this one.

Astros vs. Angels
The Astros will trot out Dallas Keuchel (4-9, 5.35 ERA, 1.43 WHIP) who owns a 3-6 mark with a 5.89 ERA in 10 starts on the road. His opposing number will be the Angels' Jered Weaver (6-6, 5.24 ERA, 1.44 WHIP) who has a 3-3 record with a 5.72 ERA in eight starts at home. Houston has averaged six runs per game over their last 10 while the Angels have plenty of firepower in their lineup with Mike Trout and company. The over is 10-3 in Dallas Keuchel's last 13 Wednesday starts. Keuchel doesn't like the road while his counterpart Jered Weaver has an aversion to home cooking as evidenced by his numbers.

Blue Jays vs. Rockies
I know, you look at a game played at Coors Field, in the thin air of Colorado, and you immediately think - over! I get it, I am with you and I do the same thing. Of course if all games went over in Colorado there would be no books to take our action as we would have cleaned them out long ago. The total in all games played at Coors Field this season favors the over 22-13 but more recently that record is 12-12 in the month of June. That's called a market correction.

There are two very good pitchers chucking in this one as Aaron Sanchez (7-1, 3.33 ERA, 1.26 WHIP) and Tyler Anderson (0-1, 2.55 ERA, 1.19 WHIP) lock horns. Sanchez has been stellar on the highway with a 5-0 mark and a 2.48 ERA this season. The under is 4-0 in Sanchez’s past Wednesday appearances. As for Anderson, the thin air hasn't bothered him one iota as he boasts a 2.25 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP at home this season. Go low here.
