Take advantage of the odds set for this game with the total a bit low, the Over seems like the smart MLB pick for this late Friday night game, our handicapper provides his analysis.

Oddsmakers have come out with the total of 8 for this American League contest. For my MLB pick, I'm going to back over this total like at BetOnline -120. The juice is set a bit high in taking the over but in my opinion, this is a solid play and we should see both teams have a lot of quality at-bats. Worth checking out the early MLB odds.

Baltimore Orioles
Kevin Gausman gets the start for Baltimore and comes in with a 3.93 ERA and 1.27 whip with the Orioles hitting .273 as a team which ranks fourth in the major leagues. Gausman has been decent for the most part this season but has struggled on the road with a 5.11 ERA in seven starts and batters hitting just over .300 against him. He has been decent when he has faced the Mariners the last couple of times but this is a much different Mariners offense than he faced the past few seasons. At the plate, Baltimore is one of the best hitting teams in the league ranking third in total bases and OPS, as well as fifth in runs scored per game. They also rank first in the major leagues in slugging percentage. In their last five games, they have been on a tear and there is no reason to think that that is going to stop today against a Seattle pitcher who is just getting back to pitching in the major leagues after pitching in Japan. Expect Baltimore to put up more than a few runs tonight.

Seattle Mariners
Wade LeBlanc was just acquired from Toronto and comes in with a career 4.41 ERA and 1.41 whip. Last year he pitched in Japan and started this year in AAA but he has some decent numbers putting up a 1.71 ERA in 90 innings pitched while down there. Looking at his career overall he is not immune to getting knocked around a bit and although he is probably a bit underrated I have a hard time thinking he will hold down one of the best offenses in baseball. At the plate Seattle has been one of the better teams in the league so far this season hitting .261 as a team which ranks 13th in the major leagues. They also rank seventh in total bases, eighth in runs per game, and ninth in OPS. They also rank second in the major leagues in home runs per game which could come into play tonight as Gausman has given up 11 home runs in his past 10 games. Expect him to give up at least one tonight and for the Mariners to put up their share of runs.
