We have some scorching hot temperatures around parts of the United States. Let's see if this comes into play where run total is concerned as we analyze Friday's slate of games and we provide our coveted MLB Picks of the Day.

Minnesota Twins at Boston Red Sox
Is this Fenway Park or Coors Field? After all of the runs that the Boston Red Sox (54-39) have been scoring, Fenway Park has become the new Coors Field. Guys such as David Ortiz have discovered the fountain of youth as he's putting up career-year numbers in his last season at age 40.

Tonight the Sox will face a very weak Minnesota Twins (35-60) squad in very high temperatures. The matchup Of Kyle Gibson (2-6, 5.12 ERA) for the Twins vs. Eduardo Rodriguez (2-3, 7.18 ERA ) could be a huge run producer as the baseball should fly fast and hard in the red hot temperatures in the Boston night.

As for Rodriguez, I was looking to jump all over the over the total due to the Red Sox's ability to score runs and the fact that Eduardo has a very bloated ERA. We take a closer look and two things stuck out. In his last outing, Rodriguez allowed just 1 run on 4 hits at Yankee Stadium in a victory over the Yankees and the outing previous to that, he allowed 9 runs on 11 hits in just 2 2/3 innings to the Tampa Bay Rays of all teams. That one outing is really deceiving where his ERA is concerned as it inflated it to it's fullest capacity. The question is "Which Eduardo Rodriguez will show up tonight against the Twins?"

Total Domination
The Red Sox had their ace, Steven Wright, pitching, but the offense was on point as Dustin Pedroia was a perfect 5 for 5 to go along with 3 runs and an RBI. Mookie Betts, Xander Bogaerts, and David Ortiz, eached chipped in with 3 hits apiece as Betts and Ortiz each went deep. Big Papi is now up to 79 RBI's to go alog with 24 HR and a .330 BA. It just doesn't get better than that. If the bettor can bet on the Red Sox at odds of -200 or less, please do so. The Red Sox are the easy MLB pick in this matchup.

Free MLB Pick: Red Sox -174
Best Line Offered: at Pinnacle

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2992819, "sportsbooksIds":[238,227,93,999996,1602], "LineTypeId":2, "PeriodTypeId":1 }[/]

Detroit Tigers at Chicago White Sox
Underrated. I wouldn't say that about Miguel Cabrera as he's been the best player in baseball for the past decade despite his massive slump. I'm talking about Michael Fulmer (9-2, 2.13 ERA). This is a pitcher that keep's coming up big in each outing and isn't even given consideration for the AL Cy Young Award.

At one point, Fulmer was a 30/1 shot to win the award. I definitely love the value and after he pitches well against a Chicago White Sox (46-49) team that's going backwards, his odd will go down. It's definitely something to look at as a possible future bet as the Detroit Tigers are a contender of some sort and Fulmer is the unanimous ace of the pitching staff.

Ian Kinsler
Due to the slump of Miguel Cabrera, Kinsler leads the Tigers in 3 major offensive categories and is having an outstanding season. For the season, he has 20 HR, 57 RBI, and a .297 BA . He also has the ability to draw a walk when necessary. In the last week alone, Kinsler has been on fire, hitting .393 with 4 HR and 5 RBI in 28 at-bats.

This is a deep Tigers team offensively, which makes them contenders for the post-season. If Miggy is having a temporary slump, Ian Kinsler, Nick Castellanos (17 HR, 52 RBI, .295 BA), or Victor Martinez (17 HR, 55 RBI, .293 BA) can pick up the slack for the future hall of famer, Cabrera. This game comes down to good hitting by the Detroit Tigers and the pitching of Michael Fulmer. This combination, makes the Tigers tough to beat and the MLB betting odds indicate this fact.

Free MLB Pick: Tigers -149 /2 Units
Best Line Offered: at The Greek

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2991773, "sportsbooksIds":[238,227,93,999996,1602], "LineTypeId":2, "PeriodTypeId":1 }[/]
