It's "Go Big Or Go Home" for some Major League teams contending for a post season berth as there is just one series remaining for each. Watch as we pick apart Friday's schedule with a couple of winning selections.

Baltimore Orioles vs. New York Yankees

Have the O's Weathered the Storm?

Thanks to back to back wins against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Baltimore Orioles (87-72) have possession of a wild card berth as they're currently tied with the Blue Jays with 3 games remaining in the season. Now, they must face a young New York Yankees team, that's on a 3 game winning streak after a sweep of their arch-rivals, the Boston Red Sox. New York, who is eliminated from the post-season, would love to spoil Baltimore's chances of making the playoffs and Baltimore's starting pitching is somewhat weak. Do the Yanks have what it takes is the question? Are they the perfect MLB pick?

Yovani Gallardo

The pressure is on the starter, Yovani Gallardo (5-8, 5.63 ERA), as he's had a relatively poor season in 2016. While Gallardo has had an above average career, he hasn't done the job this season.

He's lost 5 out of his last 6 starts. Some of it is due to poor pitching and some of it is due to lack of run support. Some numbers regarding Gallardo are very disturbing from a Baltimore standpoint. Gallardo has allowed the opposition to hit .283 off of him, he's pitched to an ERA of 6.71 on the road and he also possesses an 11.88 ERA against the Bombers in 8 1/3 innings. I expect Gallardo to keep the Orioles in the game, but I don't expect to see a pitching performance like the one that Ubaldo Jimenez provided for Baltimore last night.

The Future

Although he's slumping in his last handful of at-bats, catcher Gary Sanchez has proven that he's the real deal and the face of the Yankees ball club, that is also taken into account when the lines move across the board.

Sanchez has amassed 20 HR and 42 RBI in just 195 at-bats this season. This guy can go deep at any time and ruin the Orioles chances of making the post-season. Last night, Sanchez also nearly missed another homer. by a few feet. He's hitting .303 for the season and .350 against the Orioles in 20 at-bats with 2 HR and 5 RBI. I look for Sanchez to be a factor in this series and I look for the Yankees to close out this season strong as they're a team of the future that's exceeded expectations.

Oakland Athletics vs. Seattle MarinersSeattle Wants More Baseball

We picked the Mariners (85-74) last night and they came up with a victory and we're going "right back to the well" with the M's as the heavy chalk in this game. Seattle is a team that's gotten hot at the right time while they're facing an Oakland Athletics (67-92) team that can't wait for the season to be over. The Athletics aren't looking to play the spoiler role, they've already called it a season and that's just what Seattle need's as they're currently behind the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles by 2 games with the Detroit Tigers 1/2 game ahead of them. This is a must win situation for the Mariners and they have the firepower to put the Athletics away,

"Cruz Control"

Nelson Cruz might have made the mistake of using PED's, but all is forgotten in Seattle as Cruz is hitting in excess of 40 home runs each season and that's been overlooked in my opinion.

This season, Cruz has 41 HR, 102 RBI and a .287 BA. He's the perfect complimentary player to back up Robinson Cano. There's no let up in the meat of the middle of the Mariners batting order. Nelson Cruz has also owned the Oakland Athletics as he's hitting .419 with 3 HR and 10 RBI in 62 at-bats versus the A's. Add in the fact that Cruz has been tearing the cover off of the baseball lately, hitting .393 with 4 HR and 10 RBI's in his last 28 at-bats and the Oakland Athletics can be in for a long night as Seattle has the arsenal to destroy Oakland. I look for Seattle to play with a sense of desperation.
