We're coming down to the "nitty gritty" of the season with just 2 days remaining. Which team want's it the most? Which team will be sent packing and for a long off-season? See if and how this will come into play with our MLB Picks of the Day for Saturday.

Detroit Tigers vs Atlanta Braves  Could This Be Any More Of A Mismatch?

I thought the same thing yesterday of the Seattle Mariners vs. Oakland Athletics game and now, the team that Seattle is fighting it out with for a wild card berth in the Detroit Tigers (86-73) play and an improved Atlanta Braves team, but a Braves team that has really had a poor overall season. Detroit has won 7 out of their last 10 games and 3 straight as they're currently a 1/2 game behind the Toronto Blue Jays for the 2nd wild card spot and have the same amount of losses as Toronto.

Aaron Blair

The Detroit Tigers couldn't ask for anything more as they're going up against a very weak and inexperienced pitcher in Aaron Blair. 2016 hasn't been so kind to Blair as he sports a record of 1-7 with an 8.02 ERA. Blair has allowed the opposition to hit .308 off of him and is coming off of a very poor start in which he was touched up for 5 runs on 6 hits in 3 1/3 innings in a 6-4 loss to the Miami Marlins. Blair hasn't provided the Braves with a ton of innings during his starts and hasn't provided a real quality start. It's open season on Aaron Blair in this game as the Tigers have everything to play for and are coming off of a huge win in which Ian Kinsler went deep and Miguel Cabrera went deep twice.

An All Time Great

That's the best way to describe Miguel Cabrera as he's been the best hitter in baseball for the last decade. Miggy has really poured it on as of late. He's hitting .500 with 4 HR and 14 RBI in his last 24 at-bats. For the season, Cabrera has 38 HR, 108 RBI, a .315 BA, and .393 OBP%. People thought that he might have slowed down a bit, but that's certainly not the case as he's led Detroit to a possible playoff spot with his outstanding play on the field. Look for Detroit to crush Atlanta in this matchup.

Oakland Athletics vs Seattle MarinersSeattle's Game To Win or Lose

This is another mismatch that I had my radar on yesterday as Seattle (86-74) was my 2 unit play and delivered as advertised. The Mariners are basically in the same boat as the Tigers; just a half-game behind Detroit. The Mariners need to win out and they caught a bottom feeder in the Oakland Athletics (67-93) at the right time. Seattle doesn't completely control their own destiny, but they're right in the mix if one of the teams above them slips up.

Monster Season For Cano

There were a lot of doubters that thought that Robinson Cano wouldn't be successful away from Yankee Stadium. This season, he certainly proved that he's an elite baseball player and possibly one of the best hitting 2nd baseman of all time. Cano is coming off of a 2 home run game in a 5-1 win over Oakland . These were his 37th and 38th home runs of the season as Cano has hit the 100 RBI plateau. Backing Cano is Nelson Cruz, who also hit his 42nd home run last night. The combination of Cano and Cruz is deadly and can take the Mariners far into the post-season if they get the opportunity. It all starts with tonight as Seattle will defeat an Oakland Athletics team that gave up a long time ago as Hisashi Iwakuma get's the start for the M's.
