Only seven games are on the schedule today, so let's make sure we're on point with our baseball Picks.

Giants (Kickham) vs. Reds (Arroyo)

Covered by Jeff Grant

There's no other way to put it but to say it was a terrible month for the Giants. They went 10-16 in June and now find themselves in fourth place in the highly competitive NL West. Now they have to deal with the Reds in Cincinnati.

Luckily for San Francisco, the Reds are struggling too at 3-7 over their last 10 ballgames. Even so, the home team has the obvious advantage in the pitching matchup tonight, with Bronson Arroyo and Cincinnati favored at -165 on most MLB odds boards. Jeff is taking on that chalk and selecting the Reds to win.

Tigers (Alvarez) vs. Blue Jays (Dickey)

Covered by Joe Freda

If you can believe it, the Tigers are in a virtual tie with the Indians for the AL Central lead, thanks to a four-game winning streak for Cleveland and a poor run of play from Detroit, who have dropped two straight.

It could be tough sledding for the Tigers today against R.A. Dickey, who has looked much more like his dominant self recently. He pitched a complete-game gem against Tampa Bay in his latest start and will go up against Jose Alvarez, who's 1-1 with a 3.78 ERA in three starts this season. Joe isn't passing up a nice underdog +135 price on the Tigers for this afternoon.

Yankees (Pettitte) vs. Twins (Diamond)

Covered by Joe Catalano

After an excellent start to their season, the Yankees have come back down to earth. It was safe to assume they wouldn't be able to maintain that kind of winning pace given the number of injuries they're still trying to cover up for.

Having lost five in a row, New York needs a win in the most desperate way, so it may help knowing they've got Andy Pettitte on the mound against a very shaky Scott Diamond. With his MLB picks for the night, Joe is under the assumption that Pettitte will step up and lead the Yankees (-110 favorites) to a much-needed win.

Brewers (Gallardo) vs. Nationals (Zimmermann)

Covered by Joe Freda

The Nationals may be a mediocre 41-40 overall, but they're 22-16 at home this season and will turn to ace Jordan Zimmermann for tonight's game against the Brewers. Zimmermann has been ridiculous, going 11-3 with a 2.28 ERA and 0.92 WHIP.

Yovani Gallardo broke his string of three quality starts by not reaching the fifth inning in his latest start. However, he has been far more effective on the road this season, going 4-3 with a 3.33 ERA in eight outings. Joe thinks runs are going to be really difficult to come by for both offenses, so he's taking the UNDER 7 runs.

Diamondbacks (Miley) vs. Mets (Marcum)

Covered by Jeff Grant

Lefty Wade Miley tests his stuff against the weak-hitting Mets tonight, while New York will send out Shaun Marcum to the mound, who recently picked up his first winning decision of the season. Yes, it took him until late June to get a win.

The Mets actually haven't been performing all that poorly. They're a very respectable 6-4 over their last 10 games, though their 15-25 record at home means they're tough to trust. Nonetheless, Jeff believes the MLB betting value lies with New York against an Arizona team that's lost three in a row.
