There's a lot of great baseball matchups on the board tonight. Let's make sure we're on the mark with our MLB picks.

A lot of eyes will be on this series, with two of the National League's finest going head-to head. The pitching matchup doesn't disappoint in game one either, with Mat Latos going up against Adam Wainwright.

Good old Willie Bee is tracking this series and will have updated MLB picks for each game.

As you'd expect, two good teams and two great pitchers translate into a tight betting line. The Cardinals are a -125 favorite and the Reds can be backed at +115 – after wrapping up their recent series in Washington with a win, maybe they'll be able to carry over that momentum versus St. Louis.

So what does Willie like tonight? His pick may be unconvential to some, as he's picking the OVER 7 runs to come through. Yes, despite the fact both pitchers are in great form, he thinks the two offenses will do enough to push this one over the total.

Here's another treat for MLB fans. The Nationals and Braves, two frontrunners to reach the World Series out of the NL, meet up for a three-game series in Atlanta.

Willie is at it again for this one and is picking a road win for Washington to kick things off.

There are obviously some things to consider here. For one, the Braves were just smacked around by Detroit and have been struggling to match their awesome offensive output from earlier in the season, yet the Nationals haven't been able to win with their ace, Stephen Strasburg, on the mound either.

Strasburg, in spite of a more than respectable 3.14 ERA, has just one win against four losses so far in 2013. In his one start against Atlanta this season he gave up only five hits and two runs (zero earned) in a 3-1 loss. Willie is looking for the Nationals to finally give their star pitcher some reasonable run support tonight.

NL West Focus

We've got a few free picks up on the site that focus on NL West action this evening.

First up is the Los Angeles Dodgers at home to the Colorado Rockies. Ted Lilly is aiming for his first win of the season and will lead the Dodgers out as -150 favorites. However, the Rockies have gotten off to a solid 15-10 start and won't go down easy, even in spite of the fact they've lost two in a row.

Still, Ron Patrick has added L.A. to his sports picks for the day. Noting that both Todd Helton and Troy Tulowitzki will be out, he thinks Lilly will do enough to slow down the Rockies' bats and help the Dodgers to a win.

For San Francisco/Arizona, Ron is selecting the Diamondbacks to win at what is essentially a toss-up in terms of the odds. Considering the Giants have been a mess as of late, losing five in a row, he's riding Arizona's superior momentum.

We have an additional pick for this game, with LT Sports Profit Group going a different direction and making a play on the UNDER 8.5 runs. He reckons it's about time both Matt Cain and Ian Kennedy re-find some of their better form.

New York State of Mind

In his picks of the day article, Joe Catalano has picked the Mets (-150) to win on the road against Miami, and is also going with the Yankees (-245) over Houston.

Out other Joe, Joe Freda, is rolling with the OVER 8 runs for the Astros/Yankees game.
