Let's dive right in and analyze the opening MLB odds for Monday's baseball betting!

Angels (Richards) vs. Yankees (Kuroda)

Covered by Willie Bee

Despite having two of the highest payrolls in the MLB, it's been a disappointing season for both the Yankees and the Angels. They'll meet up for a four-game set starting tonight, with Hiroki Kuroda and Garrett Richards set to start.

It's tough going against Kuroda at Yankee Stadium, where he's gone 6-2 with a 1.74 ERA in 10 starts this season. But, even with Kuroda doing his thing each and every start and Richards pitching well over his last three assignments, Willie is going to go with the OVER 8 runs as one of his MLB picks for Monday.

Phillies (Hamels) vs. Braves (Teheran)

Covered by Willie Bee

In his first full season as a starter, Julio Teheran has been exceptional. He's 9-5 with a 2.96 ERA and 1.18 WHIP, with 121 strikeouts against 30 walks. At Turner Field, he's been even better, posting a 5-2 record and a 2.66 ERA.

That being said, Cole Hamels has been every bit as good, at least lately. In August he had a 2.57 ERA through five starts and so far, in two August appearances, he's allowed two earned runs in 15 innings. Willie will be tracking this entire series, and for game one he'll be recommending Atlanta on the run-line at +135.

Tigers (Fister) vs. White Sox (Sale)

Covered by Ross Benjamin

The Tigers keep chugging along, winning eight of their last ten to put them seven games up on Cleveland in the AL Central. Miguel Cabrera is healthy and swinging the bat just like he has been all season long, but will he be able to do damage against White Sox ace Chris Sale?

At home this season, Sale is making batters hit just .187 against him, so Detroit will need to make the most of any run-scoring opportunities they manage to get. With Doug Fister performing at a high level recently, plus Detroit's dominance over Chicago over the years, Ross is taking the Tigers as small road favorites.

Mets (Mejia) vs. Dodgers (Nolasco)

Covered by Ron Patrick

There seems to be no signs of slowing down for the Dodgers. They've now won five straight and will look to extend that run against Jenrry Mejia and the Mets tonight. Current MLB odds have L.A. listed as high as -200 to get the victory at Dodger Stadium.

Though Mejia has been more than serviceable as a new part of the rotation, how can you go against the Dodgers at the moment? The fact David Wright is out for the Mets is just icing on the cake. When it comes down to it, Ron likes L.A. in this spot, but he's going to make a selection on the run-line (+115) instead.

Monday Morning Odds Report

By: Willie Bee

Eleven games, including a couple early on in the day, are scheduled for Monday.

Angels (Richards) vs. Yankees (Kuroda)

Covered by Willie Bee

It was hardly the best of series for Mariano Rivera, but at least he's done facing Miguel Cabrera and the Tigers. Now it's the Angels' turn to head to Yankee Stadium, where they'll face Hiroki Kuroda in game one.

Since joining L.A.'s rotation, Garrett Richards has allowed only five earned runs in 18 innings. Still, Kuroda and the Bronx Bombers are favored at -150.

Phillies (Hamels) vs. Braves (Teheran)

Covered by Willie Bee

The Braves got right back to their winning ways after seeing their impressive winning streak come to an end. Atlanta now plays host to a struggling Philadelphia team at Turner Field – the Braves are a staggering 40-14 there this season.

So, even though Cole Hamels has looked much more like his old self recently, Julio Teheran and the Braves are coming into this game as -170 chalk at the MLB betting sites.

Tigers (Fister) vs. White Sox (Sale)

Covered by Ross Benjamin

Both Chicago and Detroit lost yesterday. Which AL Central team starts off this series with a victory in the Windy City? The Tigers were -125 favorites at time of this writing.

This game could easily be decided by a run, as both starting pitchers have been excellent. Chris Sale got the win in seven great innings against the Yankees six days ago, while Doug Fister has gone 3-0 with a 1.29 ERA in four starts since the All-Star Break.

Mets (Mejia) vs. Dodgers (Nolasco)

Covered by Ron Patrick

The Dodgers smacked the Rays around last night for their fifth consecutive win. They're very quickly built up a sizable lead in the NL West, and they should have an excellent chance of continuing their hot play against the Mets.

Jennry Mejia has been solid since getting the call-up in to the rtoation, but the MLB odds are clearly in L.A.'s favor here. The Dodgers are listed as -195 chalk.
