Don't forget to check out today's Daily Pitching Report for our analysis of the day's pitching selections!

We've only got nine games to sift through today, meaning we need to be on point with our MLB picks. Let's get to it!

Cardinals (Westbrook) vs. Pirates (Liriano)

Covered by Willie Bee

The Pirates opened at -140 on the MLB odds, but that number has been raised a little bit already, with sportsbooks currently putting out lines as high as -150. Rarely will you see a team as good as the Cardinals listed at such an attractive price (+135), so we can expect a lot of action to come in on St. Louis.

Willie is one of those that can't pass up such a number. St. Louis was just swept by Atlanta and will come out with renewed focus to get back on the winning side of things, especially against a divisional rival. Will Jake Westbrook be able to lead the Cardinals to a win in game one of the series?

Angels (Weaver) vs. Rangers (Garza)

Covered by Willie Bee

Both teams are struggling. The Angels have lost three in a row and are now 13 games behind Oakland in the AL West, while the Rangers have dropped four in a row and eight of their last ten. The Athletics are now six games ahead of Texas in the division.

There's still plenty of time left for the Rangers to figure things out, but the Angels are essentially a lost cause and are reportedly willing to hear offers for some of their big names. As for tonight's game, despite two top pitchers in Matt Garza and Jered Weaver slotted in as the starters, Willie is picking the OVER 8 runs.

Blue Jays (Rogers) vs. Athletics (Griffin)

Covered by Joe Freda

The Blue Jays finally stopped the bleeding with a win yesterday, but they're back at eight games under .500. With every other team in the AL East at least five games above .500, something miraculous is going to have to happen for Toronto to have any chance of reaching the postseason.

Tonight we've got Oakland and Toronto beginning a three-game set, with A.J. Griffin and Esmil Rogers penciled in as the starters. In his breakdown, Joe lays out a number of reasons why he feels the UNDER 7.5 runs is the best avenue for your sports picks, so head on over to find out his rationale

Reds (Leake) vs. Padres (O'Sullivan)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Things were going extremely well for the Reds to start post-All-Star break life, as they won six of eight, winning both of their series against Pittsburgh and then San Francisco. However, they just lost three of four in L.A. to the scorching-hot Dodgers and that's put them five games back of the Cardinals in the NL Central.

On the surface, you'd think the Reds would be able to bounce back against the Padres, but San Diego is a solid 27-23 at home this season and comes in on the heels of two straight victories. Nonetheless, Ron thinks Cincinnati is the right side and is going to gamble a little bit by taking the visitors on the run-line.

Cardinals (Westbrook) vs. Pirates (Liriano)

Covered by Willie Bee

Though Jake Westbrook has allowed three or fewer runs in four straight starts, he's had difficulty finding his best stuff out on the road. As opposed to going 5-0 with a 1.28 ERA at home, he's gone 2-4 with a 4.50 ERA away from Busch Stadium.

Perhaps that, and the fact Francisco Liriano has been amazing, is why the Pirates are favored at -150. SHould bettors be quick to add the Pitars to their MLB picks, or is there better value on offer elsewhere?

Angels (Weaver) vs. Rangers (Garza)

Covered by Willie Bee

Another excellent pitching showdown here pits new Texas man Matt Garza against Angels ace Jered Weaver.

Garza put on a show in his Rangers debut, pitching 7 and 1/3 innings of scoreless ball. However, Weaver has been a straight up stud lately, having gone 4-1 with a 1.32 ERA in five assignments this month. Nonetheless, L.A. is a +115 underdog for tonight.

Blue Jays (Rogers) vs. Athletics (Griffin)

Covered by Joe Freda

The Blue Jays have gone into a cold spell again and don't exactly get the easiest opponent here this week. The Athletics, at 62-43 overall and 33-16 at home, will be the hosts for this series.

A.J. Griffin and Esmil Rogers pick up the starts for their respective ballclubs. Entering the game, Oakland is holding -160, with Toronto available for backing at +150. The total has opened up at 7.5.

Reds (Leake) vs. Padres (O'Sullivan)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Though he hasn't been at his best, Mike Leake has won three straight starts, with his earned run average staying at impressive number of 2.73. He's 10-4 on the season and is sporting a 1.19 WHIP.

For San Diego, Sean O'Sullivan was pretty solid in his latest start, but that's not making much of a difference when it comes to the current MLB odds. The Reds are favorites at about -145.
