The San Francisco Giants cashed a third straight road ticket with Friday’s 4-1 triumph as 138 underdogs over the Tampa Bay Rays.

Saturday’s MLB betting has the set continuing with Rays left-hander David Price (6-5, 3.57 ERA) opposing Giants righty Tim Lincecum (5-11, 4.61 ERA).

Giants, Belt hold on in Tampa

San Francisco’s Brandon Belt drilled a homer and triple in Friday’s win, hitting 3-for-4.  Giants relievers Santiago Casilla and Javier Lopez both logged holds, while Sergio Romo allowed no hits en route to his 26th save.

Rays second baseman Ben Zobrist drove in his side’s sole run, finishing with a 2-for-3 night.  Tampa Bay’s Wil Myers and James Loney were both held to 0-for-3 outings, while Evan Longoria and Sean Rodriguez combined to leave 11 men on base.

Price stays hot at Fenway

Price picked up his fifth win in six starts with Monday’s 2-1 victory for Tampa Bay against the Boston Red Sox, cashing as a minus 110 road choice.  The 27-year-old held Boston’s lineup to two hits over 7 1/3 innings, while tossing eight strikeouts.

Rays relievers Joel Peralta and Fernando Rodney logged a hold and save, respectively, while the battle’s three runs dipped UNDER the ‘total’ of eight.  Tampa Bay finished with nine hits, including a 2-for-3 night from shortstop Yunel Escobar.

Lincecum outdueled as ‘chalk’

Lincecum logged his second straight losing decision in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat for San Francisco as a 142 home favorite to the Chicago Cubs.  The seventh-year hurler lasted seven frames, logging 10 strikeouts en route to allowing two homers.

San Francisco’s Pablo Sandoval poked an RBI-double from the cleanup spot, finishing 1-for-2.  Giants catcher Buster Posey left six men on base in a 0-for-4 day, while Lincecum helped his own cause with two of his side’s five hits.

Back the UNDER at “The Trop”

Price opened as 220 home ‘chalk’ on William Hill’s MLB odds board, while early wagers on Tampa Bay lifted the premium to minus 240.  The ‘total’ was first posted at seven, with a minus 115 lean to the UNDER.

I am adding the UNDER to Saturday’s card of free picks, looking for a tight duel between these starters.

Price has lasted nine frames in each of his last two home starts, holding the Houston Astros and Chicago White Sox to a combined three runs.  The three-time All-Star has given up just one homer over his most recent five outings at Tropicana Field, while facing a Giants club that has seen the UNDER cash at 6-2 in its last eight road matchups against lefty starters.

Lincecum should welcome a road spot here, tossing tighter ball in recent outings away from home.  The span’s last three starts saw “The Freak” hold foes to seven earned runs over 19 2/3 IP, including last month’s no-hitter in San Diego.

The UNDER is 8-2 in Tampa Bay’s last 10 spots against right-handed starters, including a 5-0 mark at home.  Umpire Joe West is slated to call the balls and strikes, with UNDER backers collecting at a 6-2-2 clip in the 60-year-old’s last 10 affairs behind the dish.

Look for these ‘total’ trends to hold serve again here, following Friday’s low-octane opener with another UNDER ticket to cash here.

Free Pick: UNDER 7 at William Hill
