The Los Angeles Dodgers have put together a long winning streak on the road, but it’ll likely come to an end against the St. Louis Cardinals in front of a nationally-televised audience. Where are we placing our MLB picks in tonight's series opener?

Let’s take a closer look at the MLB betting odds for this National League matchup at Busch Stadium Monday, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Check out our Monday Morning MLB Odds & Betting Lines Report.

Los Angeles extended its franchise-record road win streak to 14 games Sunday, as it picked up a 1-0 victory over the Chicago Cubs as -113 favorites, while going UNDER the betting total for the eighth time in nine contests.

The Dodgers are 8-2 when playing against a team with a winning record in the second half of the season.

Interesting road trip

St. Louis returns home after a 3-8 road trip, but it did manage to win three of its last four games, including a 15-2 blowout victory over the Cincinnati Reds as +120 underdogs yesterday afternoon.

The Cardinals are 32-17 at home during the 2013 MLB campaign, with the UNDER going 25-23-1 in that situation.

Dodgers starting pitcher Zack Greinke (8-3, 3.43 ERA) didn’t earn a decision in a 3-2 home victory over the New York Yankees last time out, as he allowed two runs and five hits over seven strong innings.

The right-hander is 3-2 with a 4.57 ERA in eight road games, issuing 22 walks and striking out 33 batters in 45.1 combined frames.

In 11 games (nine starts) versus the Cardinals in his career, Greinke has tallied a 7-3 record and 3.13 ERA, including a 2-1 mark and 2.11 ERA in four games (three starts) at this ballpark.

Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright (13-6, 2.61 ERA) went 2-1 with a 3.77 ERA in six outings last month, but he didn’t earn a decision in a 5-4 road defeat to the Pittsburgh Pirates last time out.

The right-hander has compiled a 5-4 record and 1.83 ERA in nine home outings, surrendering just two home runs in 68.2 combined innings.

In 12 lifetime appearances (nine starts) versus the Dodgers, Wainwright has put together a 4-3 record and 3.02 ERA, including a 3-1 mark and 1.19 ERA in four home starts in the series.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Cardinals with their MLB picks, as they’ve won their last five home games after a road trip of seven or more days.
