The St. Louis Cardinals visit the Atlanta Braves on Friday night to commence their 3-game weekend set. MLB pick inside.

St. Louis Cardinals (Garcia) vs. Atlanta Braves (Wisler)
After starting 0-3 vs. Pittsburgh earlier this week, I strongly favor the St. Louis bounce back.  Atlanta, meanwhile, is off a winless start of their own vs. Washington.  It looks like more of the same for an Atlanta team, who was 67-95 last year and is projected to have the same amount of wins this season.

The Atlanta offensive misery continued in their 2-game set vs. Washington to open the season.  The Braves could plate just 4 runs in 2 games against the Nationals.  On their behalf, Atlanta has somehow managed to dominate St. Louis on this field in recent seasons with a record of 9-2, including 4 consecutive wins.  That all ends tonight!  As after winning 190 games in 2012 and 2013, the Braves have won just 146 in the last 2 seasons.  Tonight’s starter, Wisler, had a strong finish to last season, going 3-0 with a 1.19 ERA in September against mostly disinterested opponents.  That strong finish, however, followed his first 9 games in which Wisler went 0-7 with an 8.08 ERA.  Along the way, he faced St. Louis twice (winning both) while working 15 2/3 IP and allowing just 2 runs.

Betting Analysis
Tonight, however, he faces a fired up St. Louis team after their 0-3 start to the season and a day off to consider it.  Remember, the Cards are the most resilient team in MLB posting a record of 133-88 (0-2 TY) following a defeat in the last 3+ seasons.  Their offensive performance against Pittsburgh begs for a bounce back.  The Cards batted just .168 vs. the Bucs, while going 3 for 22 with RISP.  Tonight, they send Jamie Garcia to the mound, who finished a strong comeback season, going 7-2 in 12 starts with a 2.74 ERA.

We will also choose to play this game on the run line, taking back a short price.  Consider that St. Louis (one of only 4 MLB teams to be greater than .500 in the last 4 seasons) has always been outstanding on the road.  That includes last year, when 37 of their 45 road wins came by 2 or more runs.   At the other end of the spectrum is that fading Atlanta team who, in their last 2 years of demise, has seen 68 of 78 home losses, including 37 of 39 home losses LY, end in defeats of 2 or more runs.  Play the Cards to bounce back in a run line role that works on both sides of the field.  I invite you to put the MLB odds in your favor and join me in my MLB pick on the St. Louis Cardinals.
