The Baltimore Orioles moved to 5-1 in their last six games with Friday’s 3-1 victory as 130 road dogs over the Texas Rangers.

Saturday’s rematch has a duel of right-handed starters slated, with Texas’ Ross Wolf (1-2, 2.14 ERA) meeting Baltimore’s Miguel Gonzalez (7-3, 3.48 ERA). Let's look at this Game 2 for our MLB picks today.

O’s, Wieters edge Rangers

Baltimore’s Matt Wieters drilled his 13th homer of the year during Friday’s triumph, while outfielder Nate McLouth hit 2-for-4 from the leadoff spot. Orioles relievers Darren O’Day and Jim Johnson held Texas to one hit over the final 2 2/3 frames, recording a hold and save, respectively.

Rangers mates Ian Kinsler and Elvis Andrus combined to bat 4-for-9 from their lineup’s top two spots, including three doubles. Texas’ A.J. Pierzynski left four men on base in a 0-for-4 night, while outfielder Craig Gentry drove in his side’s sole run.

Gonzalez, Wolf meet in rematch

Gonzalez and Wolf have both been idle since July 11, when the pair squared off in Baltimore. The Orioles came away with a 3-1 victory on that occasion, cashing as 145 home ‘chalk.’

Gonzalez lasted 6 2/3 innings, allowing four hits and two walks. Baltimore jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to early homers from Chris Davis and Brian Roberts.

Wolf gave up the pair of long balls for Texas, departing after six frames. Rangers first baseman Mitch Moreland hit 3-for-4, while Jurickson Profar and Leonys Martin left a combined five men on base.

The battle’s four runs plunged below the MLB odds ‘total’ of 9 ½, moving the UNDER to 5-1-1 in Gonzalez’ last seven starts. Davis logged the matchup’s sole error, while Texas edged the Orioles in hits, 7-6.

Back the UNDER in Texas

William Hill opened Wolf as a 120 home favorite, while first listing the ‘total’ at 9 ½ (OVER minus 120). Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz (.277 BA, 22 HRs) did not play in Friday’s opener due to a migraine and is “questionable” to return here.

I am backing the UNDER for my sports picks here, looking for another tight contest between these foes.

Gonzalez has held foes to nine earned runs over his last five road outings (31 IP), with the UNDER cashing at a 4-1 clip. Friday’s opener moved the UNDER to 4-1 in Baltimore’s last five road matchups in Texas, with the stretch including a start for Gonzalez at Rangers Ballpark last August.

Wolf has spent most of his home outings as a reliever, allowing no long balls in the span’s 16 2/3 IP. The UNDER has cashed at 12-4-1 in Texas’ last 17 home dates against a righty starter, while going 4-1 in the team’s most recent five home spots against clubs with winning records.

Umpire Rob Drake has called his share of low-octane affairs lately, with the UNDER collecting at a 7-1 clip in the Pennsylvania native’s last eight duels behind home plate. The span contained a 4-0 mark for the UNDER in American League parks, including a 3-2 win for Texas over the Boston Red Sox.

Look for these rivals to dip below a lofty number here, adding another cashed ticket to the UNDER’s 13-6 mark in Texas’ last 19 home dates with a ‘total’ between nine and 10 ½.

Free Pick: UNDER 9 ½ at William Hill
