The Atlanta Braves ended a four-game losing streak with Saturday’s 6-5 triumph over the San Francisco Giants, cashing as 188 home ‘chalk’ to even the rivals’ weekend set.

Sunday night’s finale has a duel of right-handed starters slated, with Atlanta’s Julio Teheran (4-3, 3.62 ERA) facing San Francisco’s Tim Lincecum (4-6, 4.70 ERA). Let's look at this game for one of our potential baseball picks.

Braves, Freeman rally past Giants

Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman drilled a walkoff single for Saturday’s win, capping off a four-run rally for his club. Atlanta’s B.J. Upton cracked a pair of homers, while reliever Craig Kimbrel notched his staff’s victory.

San Francisco jumped out to a 5-2 lead in the fifth inning, with Hunter Pence and Buster Posey uniting for three of their side’s RBIs. Giants mates Andres Torres and Tony Abreu combined to bat 5-for-10, while both squads finished with 11 hits.

Teheran goes six in setback

Teheran logged his second loss in three starts with Monday’s 7-6 defeat for Atlanta to the San Diego Padres. The 22-year-old gave up five runs over six innings, allowing two homers as a 133 road favorite.

Braves outfielder Jason Heyward cracked two of his side’s three homers, uniting with mate Justin Upton to both hit 2-for-5. Atlanta’s Andrelton Simmons and Brian McCann were held to a combined 0-for-8, leaving four men on base.

Lincecum slides in Pittsburgh

Lincecum logged his fourth loss over five outings in Tuesday’s 8-2 setback for San Francisco as a 114 road dog to the Pittsburgh Pirates. “The Freak” allowed two earned runs on seven hits, leaving after 4 2/3 frames.

San Francisco’s Tony Abreu and Brett Pill drove in one run each as part of pinch-hitting duty, while mates Andres Torres and Joaquin Arias both went 2-for-4. Giants first baseman Brandon Belt left two men on base in a 0-for-4 night, while Hunter Pence logged the club’s sole error.

Back the OVER in Atlanta

Bet365’s early betting saw Teheran move to minus 160 MLB odds after opening as a 151 home favorite, while UNDER wagers added a minus 120 tag to the sports book’s ‘total’ of eight. The weather forecast in Atlanta calls for an 80 degree night, with calm winds and a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms.

I am adding the OVER in this matchup to Sunday’s sports picks, looking for the series to end with some high numbers.

Teheran gave up three early runs in last month’s 6-3 victory for Atlanta over the Giants, with both sides combining for 19 hits en route to OVER backers cashing. San Francisco has seen the OVER collect at 6-1 in its last seven road spots against right-handed starters, while Saturday’s slugging moved the wager to a 7-2 mark in the last nine meetings between these foes.

Lincecum has given up a substantial 1.71 WHIP and.374 OBP within his six road outings, leading to the OVER cashing at 5-1. Atlanta’s Jason Heyward and Brian McCann have hit a combined 14-for-42 against the righty, while Heyward comes in batting 9-for-25 over his last six games.

The OVER is 8-2-1 in Lincecum’s last 11 starts against clubs with winning records, while cashing at a 5-2 clip in Atlanta’s last seven spots that came after a victory. Look for the OVER to collect again here.
