Giants (Bumgarner) vs. Braves (Medlen)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Two NL teams that are expected to make noise in the playoffs this season will meet up for a series in Atlanta this weekend. For game one, Kris Medlen and the Braves are favored at about -130 on the MLB odds board.

There are a few reasons why Ron likes a play on Atlanta here. For one, they've been tremendous at home (21-7) in 2013. Plus, the Giants have been terrible on the road for the most part and are dealing with quite a few injuries.

Red Sox (Dempster) vs. Orioles (Tillman)

Covered by Swingin' Johnson

Swingin' Johnson has hit a hot streak with his baseball picks lately, so you should definitely check out what he has to say about tonight's matchup between Boston and Baltimore.

Ryan Dempster and Chris Tillman will start in game two of the series, with the Orioles currently trading as small favorites (-110). SJ has his mind made up though and is going with the UNDER 9.5 runs, as he doesn't see much value on a money-line play.

Yankees (Pettitte) vs. Angels (Wilson)

Covered by Jeff Grant

One of the most hardworking cappers in the business, Jeff Grant, has analyzed tonight's matchup that features two southpaws in C.J. Wilson and Andy Pettitte. The Angels are currently favored to the tune of -142.

With his final selection, Jeff has decided on the UNDER 8 as the best possible pick, in expectation of quality starts out of the two starters. Be sure to check out his article on the game, which also includes a video preview.

Dodgers (Fife) vs. Pirates (Locke)

Covered by Willie Bee

In the series opener tonight, the Pirates are huge favorites to get this thing started off right. They continue to show no signs of letting down and it appears as if this will be the year they don't let it all go to waste later on in the season. That remains to be seen though.

For tonight, Willie is actually liking the Dodgers to come in and steal away game one. This appears to be a value play more than anything else, though Stephen Fife has looked marginally recently after a rough season debut.

[gameodds]3/236343/43-349-192/us[/gameodds]

Mariners (Saunders) vs. Athletics (Milone)

Covered by Joe Freda

Which version of Joe Saunders will we see tonight? Considering he'll be pitching on the road, it may not end in pretty fashion, considering he's gone 0-4 with a shocking 9.00 ERA away from Seattle this season. At home he's gone 4-2 with a 2.53 ERA.

Meanwhile, Tommy Milone has given up just three runs over his last two starts (14 total innings), lowering his overall ERA to 3.69. He's also gone 3-2 with a rock-solid 2.43 ERA at home in five home starts. Milone's performances are one reason why Joe is selecting the UNDER 7.

[gameodds]3/236355/43-349-192/us[/gameodds]

Cubs (Jackson) vs. Mets (Marcum)

Covered by Jeff Grant

Taking into account how poor both of these teams have been thus far, it's hard to feel too confident in either side tonight. That's especially true when you add in the fact Shaun Marcum and Edwin Jackson have been struggling overall this season.

Still, a choice has to be made and Jeff has opted to back the home team with his sports picks. The Mets are favored in and around the -130 area, which seems to be good value against a Chicago team that's 11-17 on the road.

Morning MLB Odds Report

Who else is ready for a full night of baseball activity for our MLB picks tonight?

Giants (Bumgarner) vs. Braves (Medlen)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Well the Giants sure woke up yesterday, crushing the Pirates 10-0 in the series finale. Will they be able to carry that level of play to Atlanta for another tough set against the Braves? Looking over the MLB odds, we find San Francisco as a +132 underdog.

Considering Kris Medlen (3-6, 2.87 ERA) has been excellent over his last two starts, paired with the fact the Braves are 21-7 at home this season, it's going to be tough backing a Giants win here in the opener.

[gameodds]3/236350/43-349-192/us[/gameodds]

Red Sox (Dempster) vs. Orioles (Tillman)

Covered by Swingin' Johnson

It took 13 innings, but the Orioles finally got the winning run across the plate off a Chris Davis single. It was a great way to start off what should be a highly competitive series between these top-tier AL contenders.

Once again the odds are tight for game two of the set, with Ryan Dempster and Chris Tillman penciled in as the two starting pitchers. For now, the Orioles are favored (-108), but that could all change with plenty of time left before game-time.

[gameodds]3/236344/43-349-192/us[/gameodds]

Yankees (Pettitte) vs. Angels (Wilson)

Covered by Jeff Grant

Fresh off getting swept by the Athletics in Oakland, the Yankees continue their west-coast trip with a series against Albert Pujols, Josh Hamilton, Mike Trout, and the Angels. Game one odds list L.A. as -140 favorites.

We've got two proven lefties in Andy Pettitte and C.J. Wilson set to do battle. Even though Wilson and the Angels will be at home, these odds seem a little too high, as we need not forget the Angels are 3-7 over their last 10 and 28-38 overall.

[gameodds]3/236356/43-349-192/us[/gameodds]

Dodgers (Fife) vs. Pirates (Locke)

Covered by Willie Bee

The Dodgers, despite the emergence of Yasiel Puig, continue to struggle and remain in last place in the NL West, 3.5 games back of fourth-place San Diego and 8.5 games behind the division-leading Diamondbacks.

A trip to Pittsburgh isn't exactly the kind of relief L.A. needed right now, but they'll have to step up and get the job done. They'll have Stephen Fife on the hill, who's looked good in his previous two assignments, while the Pirates counter with left-hander Jeff Locke, who's 5-1 with a 2.39 ERA.

[gameodds]3/236343/43-349-192/us[/gameodds]

Mariners (Saunders) vs. Athletics (Milone)

Covered by Joe Freda

After sweeping the Yankees at home, the Athletics have managed to build up a two-game lead atop the AL West. They've recorded a 21-10 mark at home and will aim to improve that record against Joe Saunders and the Mariners tonight.

Oddsmakers from the top sportsbooks have Oakland as the biggest favorite of the night. They opened as -200 favorites and it'll be interesting to see what kind of movement, if any, will take place throughout the day. The total, for those interested, is at 7.5 runs.

[gameodds]3/236355/43-349-192/us[/gameodds]

Cubs (Jackson) vs. Mets (Marcum)

Covered by Jeff Grant

It's been tough sledding for both of these teams so far this season and there's no reason to expect much change going forward. The Mets, though, have to like their chances of getting back on the winning side, and it looks like the MLB odds (-120) are in agreement.

On the surface, Shaun Marcum and Edwin Jackson's numbers have been truly awful, but both starters are coming off excellent outings. Marcum gave up just one run over eight innings against Miami and Jackson held Pittsburgh to four hits and run win over seven. Who will pitch better at Citi Field tonight?
