Red Sox (Lackey) vs. Orioles (Tillman)
Covered by Ron Patrick

Along with the red-hot Rays, the Red Sox and Orioles are the cream of the crop in the AL East, so this series is as important as ever. Baltimore has gone 29-20 at home this season, whereas Boston comes in with a 27-23 road record.

Chris Tillman has enjoyed success against the Red Sox in the past, going 2-1 with a 2.48 ERA in seven appearances. He's been getting plenty of run support, helping him to his 12-3 win-loss record, and Ron believes it's in the public's best interest to take the Orioles on a first five innings play at -120.

Angels (Williams) vs. Athletics (Colon)

Covered by Willie Bee

The Athletics aren't playing their greatest baseball currently, but they've been fortunate that the Rangers are slumping hardcore. Oakland still possesses a three-game lead atop the AL West, while L.A. is 10 games back in the division at the moment.

That lead could grow even more for the Athletics because they've got Bartolo Colon on the mound. The guy has been on fire all season long and clearly holds the pitching edge over Jerome Williams. So, Willie sees no other choice but to lay the heavy chalk (-165) and back the Athletics at home.

Reds (Bailey) vs. Dodgers (Kershaw)

Covered by Joe Freda

Not only are the Dodgers one of the hottest teams in baseball, they get to lean on their ace Clayton Kershaw for tonight's game. That's why L.A. is heavily favored at -180 despite Cincinnati owning the better overall record and going with a solid pitcher themselves in Homer Bailey.

There's a very low total on the board for this game (6.5 runs), which shouldn't be surprising given the pitching talent on display. However, Joe isn't falling into the trap of blindly playing the UNDER and instead thinking both offenses could have their fair share of scoring opportunities. He's on the OVER.

Phillies (Hamels) vs. Tigers (Fister)

Covered by Jeff Grant

Though that win-loss record of 4-12 is as ugly as it gets, Cole Hamels has performed at a much higher level throughout the month of July. He's gone 2-1 with a 2.57 ERA in four starts, while striking out 24 and walking just three batters.

If the Phillies are to grab a win tonight, Hamels will need his best stuff, even if the Tigers don't have Miguel Cabrera in the lineup again. That's just how good this Detroit offense can be. Jeff, however, does have faith in Hamels and Philadelphia tonight, siding with them at a very attractive price of +145.

Astros (Lyles) vs. Blue Jays (Dickey)

Covered by Willie Bee

Willie totally nailed yesterday's UNDER pick in Toronto's 4-0 win over Houston. Mark Buehrle pitched an absolute gem and R.A. Dickey will be looking to put forth another good showing on the mound for the home team tonight. The Blue Jays are a huge favorite today at as high as -250.

With his sports picks, Willie is going the other way on the total, picking the OVER to cash at the sportsbooks. After all, Jordan Lyles did give up nine earned runs in his most recent start, while Dickey (4.75 ERA, 1.29 WHIP) has had trouble finding consistency this season.

Morning Report

Red Sox (Lackey) vs. Orioles (Tillman)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Last night's postponed game between Boston and Tampa Bay means John Lackey's start has been been pushed back to tonight in Baltimore. The Orioles will go with Chris Tillman.

The MLB odds are pretty short in both directions, with Baltimore listed as a -125 favorite and Boston sitting at about +110.

Angels (Williams) vs. Athletics (Colon)

Covered by Willie Bee

Not only are the Athletics at home, but they also have the superior starter going tonight in Bartolo Colon, who's been nothing short of outstanding this season.

Oakland was beaten soundly by C.J. Wilson and company and will try to bounce back as significant -170 favorites. The total is at eight runs.

Reds (Bailey) vs. Dodgers (Kershaw)

Covered by Joe Freda

The Reds are playing good baseball, winning seven of their last ten, and were able to get the best of Zack Greinke last night. It's going to be even tougher against Clayton Kershaw tonight though.

With L.A. basically on fire and Kershaw a big part of that, it's not surprising in the least to see the home team posted up at a price of -175.

Phillies (Hamels) vs. Tigers (Fister)

Covered by Jeff Grant

The Phillies have lost five straight games heading into another difficult test in Detroit. Tonight's opener features Doug Fister and Cole Hamels as the two starters.

When it comes to the MLB odds, Philadelphia is the +140 underdog and Detroit is the -150 favorite. Interested in making a play on the total? The O/U is at eight runs.

Astros (Lyles) vs. Blue Jays (Dickey)

Covered by Willie Bee

R.A. Dickey is just 4-6 with a 5.84 ERA in 11 home starts this season, but we reckon he'll pitch well against a light-hitting Astros team tonight.

Houston has Jordan Lyles on the mound, who's coming off a start in which he allowed nine earned runs over four innings. As expected, Toronto is one of the heaviest favorits for your MLB pick options.
