We've got some great new matchups starting up on Friday, so let's get started and break down the MLB odds.

Orioles (Gonzalez) vs. Yankees (Nova)

Covered by Willie Bee

A four-game winning streak out of the Yankees has them right in the conversation again in the AL East, though Boston and Baltimore continue to play extremely well. New York returns home to host the second-place Orioles starting tonight.

We've got Ivan Nova (2-2, 4.63 ERA) going up against Miguel Gonzalez (6-3, 3.77 ERA) and the odds makers have Baltimore favored at -110. Willie is picking the underdog at home in this MLB betting spot though.

Tigers (Porcello) vs. Indians (Masterson)

Covered by Jeff Grant

An all-important series begins between two teams fighting it out for the top spot in the AL Central. The Tigers currently hold a 1.5-game advantage after taking three of four from the Blue Jays in Toronto, while Cleveland has dropped two in a row.

The edge pitching-wise is in the Indians' corner. Justin Masterson has been a stalwart in the rotation this season and is coming off a complete-game gem on the road against the White Sox. With his MLB picks, Jeff is rolling with the UNDER 8.5 runs in the MLB odds.

Red Sox (Doubront) vs. Angels (Wilson)

Covered by Willie Bee

The Angels, winners of eight of their last ten, are only three games below .500 now, but will be put to the ultimate test against the team with the best record in the American League. Boston has also gone 8-2 over their last 10.

The Red Sox have certainly proven to be beatable (a modest 22-18 road record in 2013) outside of Beantown, but they go up against a tough lefty in C.J. Wilson (8-5, 3.63 ERA) tonight. Willie is recommending a play on the home team (-142 in the MLB odds) for game one of the set.

Braves (Hudson) vs. Phillies (Lee)

Covered by Joe Freda

Still six games ahead of the rest of the pack in the NL East, the Braves are still hanging on, but they just lost two at home to the lowly Marlins and now have to head on the road to play another division rival in Philadelphia.

The Phillies (41-45 overall, 19-18 at home) have gone an even 5-5 over their previous 10 games and will be loving their chances of starting this thing off with a win with ace Cliff Lee (9-2, 2.59 ERA) on the hill. The UNDER is never a terrible idea when a guy like Lee is involved, and Joe agrees.

Dodgers (Ryu) vs. Giants (Cain)

Covered by Ron Patrick

The Angels aren't the only L.A. team that's turned it up a notch lately. The Dodgers are storming their way up the standings in the NL West and are just 3.5 games behind the first-place Diamondbacks. They'll go up against the struggling Giants starting tonight.

San Francisco can't put anything together right now. They've lost three in a row and are 1-9 over their past 10, so they could really use a win behind Matt Cain here. Cain's start was pushed back after the postponed game against Cincinnati yesterday. As for his sports picks, Ron is selecting the hotter team in the Dodgers (+120).
