Friday’s MLB betting has a pair of late National League matchups, with weekend sets opening out west.

The San Diego Padres visit the Arizona Diamondbacks, while the Chicago Cubs continue their road trip against the San Francisco Giants.

San Diego Padres at Arizona Diamondbacks

Arizona sends right-hander Randall Delgado (2-3, 3.43 ERA) against Padres lefty Eric Stults (8-8, 3.45 ERA), with the clubs meeting for the first time since San Diego’s home sweep last month. Delgago opened as 135 home ‘chalk’ on Bet365’s board, while the ‘total’ was listed at a flat 8 ½.

Delgado returns home after Sunday’s 3-1 victory for Arizona as a 148 road dog in San Francisco. The Panama native held the Giants to no runs over 5 2/3 frames, giving up three hits and four walks.

Stults was outdueled on the same afternoon, falling as a 214 road dog in San Diego’s 3-2 defeat to the St. Louis Cardinals. The 33-year-old allowed all three of St. Louis’ runs in the third frame, surrendering eight hits over a six-inning stint.

I am adding Stults and the Padres at a price of plus 129 to Friday’s free picks parlay, looking for Bud Black’s club to steal this opener. San Diego has notched 5.6 RPG over its last eight contests, cashing four times as an underdog with a 5-3 mark.

Stults held the Diamondbacks to one run over nine frames in June’s 2-1 win for San Diego, tossing a two-hitter. Arizona is 2-5 in its last seven home dates as a favorite of minus 150 or less, while going 4-9 in its last 13 meetings at Chase Field with the Padres.

Chicago Cubs at San Francisco Giants

San Francisco’s Matt Cain (6-6, 5.00 ERA) meets Chicago’s Edwin Jackson (6-11, 5.03 ERA) in a duel of righties here. Cain saw his first price of minus 174 drop to 162 after early wagers on Chicago, while the opening ‘total’ held at seven (OVER minus 115).

Cain picked up his first win in six starts with Saturday’s 4-3 triumph for San Francisco as 133 home ‘chalk’ over Arizona. The three-time All-Star held the Diamondbacks to two runs over five frames, while closer Sergio Romo anchored a crew of seven relievers for his 23rd save.

Jackson fell short in Sunday’s 4-3 defeat for Chicago as a 150 road dog against the Colorado Rockies. The 11-year veteran allowed three earned runs in seven innings of action, with the Cubs failing to cash despite edging the Rockies in hits, 10-5.

I am backing the OVER in this duel, adding the wager to Friday’s parlay ticket. The OVER has cashed at 9-3 in Chicago’s last 12 road games against righty starters, while collecting at a 6-2-1 clip in San Francisco’s most recent nine home dates.

Giants slugger Pablo Sandoval has hit 6-for-11 in his career against Jackson, while coming in warm with a 4-for-9 mark in his last two games. Cubs veteran David DeJesus came off the disabled list, two days ago, and should have chances for some spark with two homers in a 6-for-15 career facing Cain’s arm.
