The picks are in. What kind of betting value do our handicappers think they've found for today?

Tigers (Porcello) vs. Yankees (Nova)

Covered by Willie Bee

If you saw this pitching matchup early on in the season, you would have expected a lot of runs to be put on the scoreboard. But, Ivan Nova and Rick Porcello have actually been quite reliable for their respective ball clubs, so maybe we'll end up seeing a low-scoring game at Yankee Stadium tonight.

Coming in, Nova has a 3-2 record and 2.53 ERA in six starts at home, while allowing just two home-runs. But Willie isn't about to fade one of the hottest teams in the majors, so he'll be siding with the small road chalk that comes with Detroit.

Orioles (Tillman) vs. Giants (Vogelsong)

Covered by Ron Patrick

The Orioles are doing their best to stay toe-to-toe with Boston and Tampa Bay in the AL East, but right now they're 3.5 games behind the Rays and 5.5 back of the Red Sox. They have however won two straight ahead of this road game at AT&T Park versus the Giants.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of outing Ryan Vogelsong has after such a long layoff. He was incredibly bad before going down with the injury, but Ron believes San Francisco has the edge in the bullpen and will therefore be picking the Giants as home underdogs.

Rays (Price) vs. Dodgers (Capuano)

Covered by Willie Bee

Will David Price put on another masterful show tonight at Dodger Stadium? When he came back from the DL, he had a 5.24 ERA, but over his last seven starts he's been able to get that number all the way down to 3.36. In his previous three appearances, he’s allowed just 12 total hits and three earned runs in 25.1 IP.

So, even though the Dodgers are hot, they're likely to find run-scoring opportunities few and far between. Willie is going along with that notion by selecting the ‘Under’ 6.5 runs as one of his MLB picks.

Phillies (Lannan) vs. Nationals (Haren)

Covered by Ron Patrick

The Nationals have lost four games in a row, and with Atlanta's ridiculous winning streak now at 13 games, they're now 15.5 games behind in the division. Washington, though, still owns a positive record at home (31-28) despite an overall mark of 54-60 for the season.

Philadelphia's even further back in the NL East and losing seven of their last ten hasn't helped matters much. It's hard to see much value in backing someone like Dan Haren at a price of -175, so Ron is jumping on the other side by recommending his readers play the Phillies at roughly +155 on the MLB odds.

Morning Odds

By: Steven Suarez

It's Friday, which means we're back with a full slate of games in Major League Baseball. Here's what you need to know about tonight's betting odds before you place your MLB picks.

Tigers (Porcello) vs. Yankees (Nova)

Covered by Willie Bee

Ivan Nova has been darn good for the Yankees this season and will be coming off a month of July in which he recorded a 2.03 ERA.

However, the Tigers are scorching hot at the moment and Rick Porcello has been much improved as of late. Detroit comes in as a -115 favorite on the road.

Orioles (Tillman) vs. Giants (Vogelsong)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Making his first start in over 10 weeks, Ryan Vogelsong will hope to give the Giants a good shot at a win at home over the Orioles.

It'll be Chris Tillman (14-3, 3.89 ERA) that receives the start for Baltimore, with current MLB odds offerings showing the visitors as -125 chalk.

Rays (Price) vs. Dodgers (Capuano)

Covered by Willie Bee

Because David Price has been outstanding since returning from the disabled list, there should be no surprise at the Rays (-120) being favored on the road against the Dodgers.

L.A., though, may be worth a long look with your sports picks here. No team has been better over the last few months and Chris Capuano has had his moments this season.

Phillies (Lannan) vs. Nationals (Haren)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Inconsistency has plagued both Dan Haren and John Lannan so far, with the two set to duel as the starting pitchers for tonight's game in the nation's capital.

Haren has managed to put up two straight good outings though, and that paired with Washington's home-field advantage is translating into a -145 line for the hosts.
