It’s Friday and we’re closing in on each team’s final series of the regular season. Some games still remain important while others are just a formality. Let's look at the betting odds.

Time to finish the regular season on a high note with our MLB picks.

Colorado Rockies (72-87) at Los Angeles Dodgers (91-68)

Kershaw Time

As they enter their final series of the regular season, each of these teams knows where they’re at. Colorado is going home while the Dodgers will be a legitimate contender in the playoffs after dominating the National League West Division.

That said, the Dodgers have lost 2 straight games to the San Francisco Giants and want to end a great regular season on a high note. What better way than to break a mini-losing streak than to start possibly the best pitcher in the major leagues, in Clayton Kershaw (15-9, 1.88)?

Reliability

There are other pitchers that have similar talent to Kershaw such as Matt Harvey, but Kershaw has stayed injury free and has always answered the bell with consistency and dominance when his name has been called. Earned run average is a true measure of pitching talent and when it comes that category, Kershaw is the number 1 pitcher in baseball. He always hasn’t gotten the run support, but the L.A. offense knows that it only has to scratch out a few runs to win a game that Kershaw starts.

Kershaw is coming off of a huge victory over the San Diego Padres in his last start in which he allowed 3 hits in 7 innings while striking out 10 batters. Colorado has a formidable offense, but this is a team that’s ready to call it a season. The Rockies haven’t been able to win without good pitchers. Troy Tulowitzki wants to play somewhere else next year, Todd Helton is retiring, and Carlos Gonzalez has been plagued by injuries and his season is over.

The Rockies have little motivation in this game while the Dodgers want to go into the playoffs strong. Players like Yasiel Puig play every game as if it was his last. Puig is a tone setter for the Dodgers and although his average has dropped to .324, he’s brought major enthusiasm and talent to this team.

Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers offense are too strong for the Rockies at home in the final series of the regular season.

MLB Pick- Los Angeles on the MLB odds Lines of -1.5 -125

Friday MLB Betting Lines Report~

Los Angeles Angels (78-81) at Texas Rangers (88-71)

Flying By the Seat Of Their Pants

Texas’ season has been very chaotic as they were dominant in their division for most of the season only to go into a major drought and hand deliver the American League West Division to the Oakland Athletics. The Rangers even took it a step further as they kept losing and took themselves out of the wild card spots. Now , the Rangers have finally gotten back into the groove, on a 4 game winning streak, and desperately need to win out in the final 3 games of the season as they trail the Cleveland Indians by a mere game.

Profar to the Rescue

In their game against a very tough Los Angeles Angels team on Thursday, Texas was trailing most of the way but fought their way back to a 6-5 victory as Jurickson Profar hit a pinch hit home run in the 9th inning to win the game for Texas and keep their playoff hopes alive.

Texas can’t control what Cleveland is doing, but they need a win here and they’ll turn to guys like Ian Kinsler, Alex Rios, and Adrian Beltre for their offense. Lately, this trio has been coming up big in pressure filled situations.

Standing in Texas’ way tonight is Angels starter C.J. Wilson (17-7, 3.36). The Angels definitely have the edge in the pitching department tonight as Wilson has given up 3 runs or less in 9 out of his last 10 starts. Look for this to be another close games and I expect Wilson and Texas starter, Alexi Ogando (7-4, 2.93), to control the tempo of the game. Take the UNDER in this spot for your MLB picks.

MLB Pick- Texas/Los Angeles UNDER 8.5 -120 at Bet 365
