Just one game on tap in the MLB Playoffs, but it's a big one as Max Scherzer and the Washington Nationals host Rich Hill and the Los Angeles Dodgers in a "winner takes all" game to see who advances to the next round. See our MLB pick in this much-anticipated matchup.

According to 5Dimes, the Nationals are a -144 betting favorite and the total is listed at 7 runs. Los Angeles starting pitcher, Rich Hill, come's back on short rest after a disastrous first start in which he allowed 4 runs on 6 hits in just 4 1/3 innings. Hill will have the opportunity to make amends, but it will be against one of the best pitchers in the majors in Max Scherzer.

Scherzer also go lit up for 4 runs on 5 hits in 6 innings in his only start in the postseason. Let's not overlook Hill as he posted a 2.12 ERA during the MLB Regular Season. Both of these pitchers will have something to prove and I expect them to both pitches well as this game is for all of the marbles.

Mr. Clutch

This is a 2nd consecutive season in which Daniel Murphy is excelling in the playoffs and basically carrying his team along with Jayson Werth (1 HR, 3 RBI, .467 BA) who is also have an outstanding post-season, but Murphy has been the best acquisition in the past off-season for the Nats as he's basically carried this Nationals offense on his back for the entire season.

For a while, Murphy was hovering around the .400 mark during the regular season, but he settled in to have a  MVP-like year in which he had 25 HR, 104 RBI, and a .347 BA. In the playoffs, Murphy is hitting .462 with 6 RBI's to lead the team. Bryce Harper has been a flatout disaster. If there's one player for Rich Hill and the Dodgers pitching staff to watch out for, it's Daniel Murphy.

Let's also not forget that this is an elimination game for both teams. This means that every pitcher is available to pitch in this game because in both team's minds, they don't want to go home early.

One other player to keep an eye on for the Nats is leadoff man, Trea Turner, Turner has been able to get on base all season long and possesses a ton of speed. He's hitting .353 in the playoffs and one run can make the difference and the Dodgers wouldn't want to see Turner get on base.

Justin Turner

While the Dodgers have gotten key hits by players such as Chase Utley to win games, Justin Turner has carried this offense in the post-season and is one of the main players in this Dodgers offense.

Turner is hitting .455 with 1 HR and 3 RBI's .This should be no surprise as Turner has been hitting well all season. Los Angeles has many players that can come up big in a big spot such as Adrian Gonzalez, Turner, Josh Reddick, or even Joc Pedersen. It's a matter of who get's hot at the right time and in this case maybe nobody will get hot as Max Scherzer will be looking to deliver the knockout blow to the L.A. playoff run.

This is a very even matchup, but starting pitching wins games and Max Scherzer is the guy that I would want starting for me and I also think that, Kershaw aside, the Nationals are the better baseball squad. Look for Washington to advance to the next round.
