Our MLB handicapper shares his two best totals selections on Friday’s card. Don’t miss out on these red-hot picks by going inside to read this betting preview.
Tigers (Verlander) vs. Indians (Anderson) 7:10 PM ET
Jason Verlander has been terrific over his last six starts, posting a brilliant 1.27 ERA and 0.97 WHIP during that time frame. The Tigers have a poor .297 on base percentage as a team over their last seven games.
Cody Anderson has displayed superb form over his previous three starts, evidenced his 2.08 ERA and 0.75 WHIP in those outings. Anderson has faced Detroit once this season, and that occurred just last Sunday. The Indians hurler allowed no earned runs on just 2 hits while walking 2 in a 4-0 Cleveland win.
MLB Totals Betting Angle
- Cleveland has a .255 team batting average in 2015.
- Jason Verlander has a 1.09 WHIP for the year.
- The Detroit bullpen has a staff ERA of 4.79 this season.
Any American League home team (Indians) that has a .260 or less team batting average, versus an American League opponent (Tigers) with a bullpen ERA of 4.50 or more, and a starting pitcher (Verlander) with a WHIP of 1.10 or less, resulted in those games going 114-59 (65.9%) under the total since 1997.
Astros (Keuchel) vs. Angels (Weaver) 10:05 PM ET
Houston southpaw Dallas Keuchel has been nothing short of sensational over his last five starts, evidenced by his 1.75 ERA and 0.89 WHIP during those outings.
Jered Weaver has been excellent in his last three starts at home with a sparkling 1.56 ERA and 0.98 WHIP. The veteran right-handed hurler has gone 2-0 in his team starts versus Houston this year with a miniscule 1.20 ERA and 0.75 WHIP. Weaver is 17-3 under the total since 2013 in his starts that take place after game 81 of the season. The Angels are 25-13 under the total this year when facing a southpaw starting pitcher.
This has the earmarks of a low scoring game, and one of my MLB picks on Friday will be indicative of that notion. Bet365 has the best wagering value pertaining to this wager.
