We recommend betting the Run-Line MLB odds tonight, as the Padres and Dodgers square off for the third series this year, in the first of a 3-game weekend set at Dodger Stadium.

San Diego Padres (Cashner) vs. LA Dodgers (Greinke) (-1 ½ R/+120) 10:10 ET
The Dodgers won 2 of 3 in each of the 3-game sets against San Diego with all 4 victories coming by 3 or more runs with a total score of 27-16.  The Padres go north to LA, following a 7-game home stand against Washington and the Cubs, in which they went just 2-5.  Since an 8-3 victory against Washington to begin that home-stand, the Padres have scored just 12 runs in the next 6 games.  Currently, they trail the Dodgers by 5 games in the division.  LA returns home from a 3-game set in San Francisco, where they were swept for the 2nd time this season.  Despite that, LA continues to lead the Giants by 1 ½ games.  Of greater note from that series, is that LA failed to plate a run in any of the 3 games.  In fact, they enter tonight with 31 consecutive scoreless innings.   In their last 5 games, they are 1-4, combining for just 2 runs.

Tonight, however, they return to Dodger Stadium, where they have an MLB best record of 17-5, while averaging 5.5 RPG.  Of additional note is that the Dodgers have been one of the most resilient teams in baseball with a record of 56-29, following a defeat L2Y.  It certainly is a positive that Greinke will be taking the mound.  For the season, Greinke is 5-1 with a 1.52 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, .521 OPS and 4.0 K/BB.  The Dodgers lost his previous outing (7-1) to Colorado.  But, Greinke allowed just 1 run on 4 hits in the 6 IP he pitched.  Twice this year, Greinke has faced the Padres.  In total, he has worked 13 IP with a 0.69 ERA.  That means in his last 9 starts vs. San Diego, Greinke is 5-0 with a 1.58 ERA.  Even more impressive is Greinke’s work against the NL West as a whole.  He is 22-2 with the Dodgers in divisional play featuring a 1.95 ERA.  That is even better from this mound, where Greinke, in 21 starts, is 16-1 with a 1.79 ERA.  Look for his best stuff, as he is pitching following both a personal loss and a team loss.

Note before placing your MLB picks that the Padres continue to poorly support Andrew Cashner.  Despite a 3.24 ERA, Cashner is just 1-7.  That will continue to weigh heavily on his mind as he faces Greinke tonight.  Four starts on the road this year have seen Cashner work 24 IP, allowing 16 runs on 24 hits for a 4.13 ERA.

MLB Picks: Play on the Dodgers -1.5 (+120) at Pinnacle
