Dodgers, D-backs fall in finales
Los Angeles suffered a trio of one-run defeats in Cincinnati, capped off by Sunday’s 3-2 setback as a 127 favorite. Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez cracked a homer as part of a 2-for-4 night, while mates Andre Ethier and Mark Ellis left four men on base with a combined 0-for-7 mark.
Arizona also dropped a 3-2 decision on the same card, losing in 11 frames as a 129 road dog to the San Francisco Giants. Diamondbacks outfielder A.J. Pollock drove in his club’s tying run in the eighth inning, while reliever Joe Thatcher later allowed a walkoff single for his staff’s loss.

Nolasco stays hot in Colorado
Nolasco notched a third straight win in Tuesday’s 7-4 victory for Los Angeles as a 100 road dog against the Colorado Rockies. The 30-year-old allowed two runs over six innings, giving up five hits and one walk.
Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford drove in two runs from the leadoff spot, uniting with mate Nick Punto to bat 7-for-10. Los Angeles finished with 12 hits, while the battle’s 11 combined runs jumped OVER the ‘total’ of nine.
Delgado collects at home
Delgado picked up his fourth no-decision in six starts with Wednesday’s 4-3 triumph for Arizona over the Toronto Blue Jays, cashing as a 115 home favorite. The Panama native surrendered all three of Toronto’s runs in the first frame, while holding the Blue Jays to four hits over seven innings.
Arizona staged a rally throughout the affair, capped off by a walkoff single from shortstop Willie Bloomquist in the 10th inning. Diamondbacks mates Eric Chavez and Matthew Davidson logged one RBI each, combining to hit 2-for-3.
Back the UNDER in L.A.
MLB odds opened Nolasco as a 160 home favorite, while first posting the ‘total’ at 7 ½ (UNDER minus 125). The weather forecast at Dodger Stadium calls for 71 degrees, with partly cloudy skies and calm winds.
I am adding the UNDER to Monday’s free MLB picks, looking for some low octane to start this series.
Nolasco has been stingy through his last month of action, allowing just six earned runs over just as many starts (39 1/3 IP). The stretch has included only one homer being surrendered, while the UNDER has cashed at a 4-2 clip.
Delgado’s sole start against the Dodgers in July saw the UNDER collect, holding Ramirez and Co. to three runs over six innings. Arizona has seen the UNDER cash at a 10-4-2 mark over its last 16 road dates facing a righty starter, while riding a 9-2 stretch for the UNDER in the club’s most recent 11 contests overall.
Look for the UNDER trends to keep holding serve here, adding another cashed ticket to the 7-0-2 mark in Los Angeles’ last nine home dates as a favorite of minus 150 or less.
