We’re going to examine Monday’s AL East clash between Red Sox and Orioles. Go inside to be a well informed bettor in regards to this matchup. Check statistics and our MLB pick.

Baltimore (Gallardo) vs. Boston (Price)
Monday will be the Red Sox home opener at Fenway Park. They’ll be hosting AL East rival Baltimore who comes to town with a perfect 5-0 record.

Current MLB odds at Bookmaker.com has Boston as a large -194 money line favorite, and the posted total is 8.5. Since the onset of the 2014 MLB campaign, Baltimore is 22-16 against Boston, including 11-9 at Fenway, and those games have gone 21-16-1 over the total.

Starting Pitchers
Baltimore will send 30 year old right-hander Yavoni Gallardo to the mound. Gallardo was sharp in his 2016 debut versus Minnesota, allowing 1 earned run on 2 hits in 5.0 innings pitched. He faced Boston twice last season, compiling a 4.09 ERA, and had a lofty 1.55 WHIP during those outings.

Gallardo had eight starts with Texas during day games in 2015, and had an impressive 2.36 ERA. Gallardo went 23-9-1 under the total last season, and that includes 19-3 (86.3%) under when the number was 8.5 to 10.0. He also went 11-2 in his team starts last season versus opponents with a winning record.

Red Sox fans are extremely excited about Monday’s home debut of newly acquired star southpaw starting pitcher David Price. He went a combined 18-5 in 2015 with an excellent 2.45 ERA while pitching for Detroit and Toronto. Price started in eight day games last season, posting a stellar 2.06 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and had a 6:1 strikeout to walk ratio.

As a matter of fact, Price is 28-11 (71.8%) under the total in day game starts at home during his entire career. Price’s only start this season came during a matinee affair at Cleveland, and he allowed 2 earned runs, 5 hits, and struck out 10 in 6.0 innings of work. Since 2014, the power pitching southpaw made four starts against Boston, each of those outings went under the total, and he compiled a sparkling 2.33 ERA.

Great Start for Bullpen Staffs
The Orioles relievers have been terrific to start the year. They’ve posted a cumulative 1.27 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and had just short of a 4:1 strikeout to walk ratio. Baltimore has allowed an average of just 2.0 runs per game, and opponents have a combined .211 team batting average in 2016. The Red Sox bullpen has been equally impressive thus far, posting a 1.56 ERA, and an awesome 0.75 WHIP.

Final Take
I’d be very surprised if David Price doesn’t turn in a dominating performance today with all things being considered. Baltimore will hope for 6.0 solid innings from starter Yavoni Gallardo, and then turn it over to their dominant bullpen. I like this game to be a lower scoring affair, and one of my Monday MLB picks will be indicative of that prediction.
